Hi to all.
I installed windows 10 with bootcamp in a external SSD. After the windows installation I tried to download MSFS and after the download appears an error “0x8…”. I tried some possibly solutions that I find on internet search.
After various attemps the games finally install.
I launched the game and when it started to download the remaining files it crash to desktop and the game did not start anymore.
I unistalled the game, and again the same error “0x8…” on Game store.
…3 ? then you have to increase your windows virtual memory ( pagefile ) that you come overall to a amount of memory of at least 32GIG ( you own 8GIG RAM ? : then recommend a Max Value of 30 GIG ) … and ensure enough free space on disc.
I don’t think that this is the problem. Before windows 10 was installed on internal HDD with bootcamp and MSFS work good. Now Windows is installed on fast SSD and I can’t install MSFS.
I think that now the configuration should be better.
okay… then I assume you have a lot free space… but also with this users reported that windows pagefile “system managed” doesnt works as expected. Give it a try to increase the pagefile to a min8: max:30GIG value ( you can only loose five min of your time if it will not help ).
Otherwise we need the exact error message, because it is a guess from my side that your reported “0x8…” ends with a “3”
I made a fresh installation of Windows 10 but unfortunaly the same results. After download the same error.
Maybe could be a problem with the folder in the Windowsapps? Because I enter in the Windowsapps folder and the Microsoft Flight simulator folder is present but I cannot enter even after create the folder permission.
Maybe this could be the problem?
And what tell the supporter : “old issue ( July 2020 ) plesae create new help request”
There are many other reports about that in the big-google-world.
But also I seen other hints like:
change the default install drive for windowsapps to another drive and back again to the drive you want ( settings → System → memory → change folder… )
But not sure with this… may be you find other solutions within the net… there are some discussions about these error number and MS - Store. But may be there is the issue with the Mac…
I don’t know if this could be the solution: before buy the Samsung SSD I installed windows on internal Mac HDD via bootcamp and MSFS without any problem. I think that the problem is the external SSD. The last chance maybe could be install windows and MSFS on internal HDD and after move MSFS on external SSD
I made what I wrote in the last topic. I installed Windows on the internal Mac HDD and MSFS on the external SSD. Now it work.
I think that the problem is (on Mac side) install windows and MSFS on the same external SSD. Tks to all for the help.
