ES-30 G3000 GTC COM knob long press causes short press action

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: In the Heart Aerospace ES-30…

Long presses of the inner knob of the Garmin G3000 GTC labeled “Push: 1/2 Long: :up_down_arrow:” causes both the short press function (COM 1/2 other radio select) and the long press function (active-standby swap) to both occur sequentially. The result is that if COM 1 is selected and the knob is long-pressed the radio will switch from COM 1 to COM 2 immediately and then also active-standby swap COM 2 after the long press delay.

The correct behavior of the system is that a short-press will select the other communication radio only if (and when) the knob is released prior to the long press duration has elapsed and long-press will only active-standby frequency swap the currently selected communication radio. Long-press of the knob will not select the other radio.

Note that similar aircraft Daher TBM 930 with Garmin 3000 demonstrates correct behavior under same input.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Issue occurs every time the inner knob is long-pressed while airplane is normally powered.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Begin with normally powered airplane where com 1 active, com 1 standby, com 2 active, and com 2 standby frequencies are different.

  2. Press inner knob on GTC panel for a long (approx 1 sec) period of time.

  3. Note that the selected radio changes followed by the frequencies being swapped in the newly selected radio.
