Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

• I’m observing the same emissive light problem with several POIs introduced in various world/city updates. Examples would be National Mall and the cathedral in Washington, DC and several buildings in Stockholm.
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

The reverse is true of some 3rd Party scenery. EGNJ by SoFly used to have floodlights to light the ramp. With SU2 they are now dim 40w bulbs in the sky and have little effect on lighting the ramp.
This is EGNM by ORBX. You get no effect from the floodlights and then randomly they will burn your retinas out with the second image for a few seconds and then plunge you into darkness again.
Description of the issue: POIs are overly bright at night and stand out like are sore thumb. This affects all POIs as far as I can tell.
Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta? Yes, this issue was already present in the SU1 beta and not fixed here.
ICAO, coordinates, or specific location: Example image is near LPPT, but I have also seen examples in Germany south of Hannover and other areas.
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? Yes

• Los Angeles area at night, the mountains are “lit up” in a completely unrealistic manner. In real life, mountains are a black hole, they are not “illuminated” in this manner/degree. See example screenshot from SU2. Indeed, the streetlights and other lighting on the ground, or in cities from altitude, are also excessive and not realistic.

Summary
To be honest, FS2020 night lighting for city and airport lights looks better than FS2024. '24’s lighting is too bright, the bloom is a bit exaggerated. Lights in the far distance can be seen shining very brightly (see in the examples below) and the sepia mask makes for an “artificial” looking brightness as if the lighting was forced. Airport lighting looks like stars in your face and seem to get brighter the farther they are. The same can be said for all lighting in general; they don’t get dimmer with distance. They have a constant brightness even if they are very far.
ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
Explained in the title. I saw a bug report regarding this a while back and it was marked as fixed. The issue can be found here:
The thread above provides an in-depth explanation of the issues.
While the airport lighting visibility in the distance is a bit better, the rest of the lighting is still too bright. Airport and runway lights light up like stars in your face, while city lights make the world too bright. The sepia mask also doesn’t look good.
ICAO, coordinates, or specific location:
Any airport/city. The pictures below will be from RJTT (Tokyo Haneda) and the default RPLL (Manila)
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
I have addons but the one’s that I have aren’t relevant for this issue as it applies for both default and add-on scenery
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
Go to any airport at night. Preferrably international airports with a lot of lights

In the examples below, you can see some areas with orange lighting. It looks as if the towns are on fire, or there are people carrying pitchforks and torches in some mid-12th century protest or something.
I’d like to bring up another example of good night lighting which was also brought up in the thread I mentioned earlier:
EDIT:
I think I understand part of the problem. Instead of night lights getting dimmer as the source is further away, they seem to have the same brightness or are somehow brighter.
The problem doesn’t seem to be limited to airport lighting, but city lights are way too bright as well.
Here we are at Tokyo Haneda airport, Runway 34R. As you can see, the brightness of the lights somehow remain constant even if the light source is far away.
Yes, night lightning at airports is still VERY agressive. In drone mode when you zoom in the spears just become bigger and bigger and they also become blurry. The result is huge blurry blobs that look very bad. It looks terrible. City lights do not act this way. Asobo please fix this!

Lights are still too bright. These lights are supposed to be directional in the horizontal plane and be bright enough to be discernible when you’re lined up with the runway, not any angle possible:
EDIT: For reference according to the FAA: “L-852T (taxiway lights) coverage is 2 candelas minimum from 1 to 6 degrees vertically and must be visible for angles from15 to 90 degrees (visually verified), as projected.”
And for runway lights, it’s more complicated, but here’s the table. The highlighted line is elevated runway edge lights used for runways with precision approaches:
