Excruciatingly slow response in Setting Controls Screen

Really their attention is on it? They just released SU2 without the fix weeks after this issue was reported. Is their attention really on it? you’d think they would priortize something so basic  Not even a bug-logged?

While not exactly snappy it’s only about 3-4 seconds for me. 18 - 45 seconds is crazy. I wonder what’s going on there for you.

I’m pretty sure it is, but not exclusively. There are maaaany more construction sites, many of them more important than this one.

  • General VR fixes:
    • Fixed the ratio of panels in VR flight
    • Fixed the appearance of the toolbar when going out of VR flight
    • Fixed some 3D UI that were appearing in front of the panels in VR flight

Here are some of the fixes from the release notes. Are you seriously trying to say that these fixes took priority over CONTROL BINDINGS?

and yes there are going to be many "construction sites’’ when you release a half baked sim.

Thank god. Its about time. Hopefully we’ll get the fix by SU3.

Finally, a bug logged!

For grins I closed the sim, deleted the dxcache files, updated my nvidia driver to the latest, did a disk cleanup, and rebooted.

Now my controls page takes 20 - 21 seconds to appear, and the same amount to change between anything. Up from 13 seconds.

Painful.

Not necessarily, but many bugs don’t have a simple “turn the control binding switch dial back up to 11” solution. There is a complex system of interacting elements at hand that might affect other things negatively. It simply could have taken too much time to analyze the issue and find a solution that doesn’t break anything else so far to make it for SU2 prime time.

Honestly im just happy the bug has been logged. I understand that these things are probably way more complex than I could ever imagine. We were just looking for an acknowlegement that the issue had been seen by the devs.

I am now getting a CTD anytime I try applying a setting to all aircraft, such as my TOBI settings, my general keyboard settings, etc. as seen in this short video. You will also notice prior to the crash the lengthy loading times for everything, down to about 35 seconds now, from 45 seconds this morning. At the end it is a CTD but OBS goes blank because there isn’t the game window to record any longer.

This is already marked as bug-logged but just reassuring everyone that we have sent up today’s feedback regarding this issue. Thanks for your comments.

Jummivana … thanks for the info … but when can we expect a fix for this … it’s very frustrating … 39 seconds (yes I timed it) wait time every click to change a config or device … :frowning:

Definitely Not. Controller things are the beginning of each flight.

It’s the same now SU2 update has been released.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• I have the same problem - It takes an age to choose a profile instead of it happening instNTLY

Hm, not really. For me controller adjustments are only necessary when I fly a new aircraft for the first time. After that it remembers the correct profile and I’m good to go. Do you have to setup the controls every time? If so something else might be broken.

Not so much. The cloud storage is really flaky. It never remembers my profile settings for at least some of my aircraft and I have to keep resetting them at the beginning of every flight.

This may be fixed in the SU3 beta (need more folks to confirm). I’m seeing a 1-3 sec response time now on my PC. See:

Confirmed. Fixed.

I like the new UI with some additional options. I still wish the controller selection was a drop-down.

reason alone right here to get the SU3 beta. as soon as steam gives it to me as an option. lol
