hello, I am searching for my FS2020 exe folder in the windowsapps location on c and its not there. I need help finding it. steam version
Launch Steam Client, go to your Library. Right click on the MSFS entry on the left side, one of those menus will open a window to where the files are.
still nothing
no exe file there
my exe is missing i have looked everywhere
Try C:\ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Chucky
Depends on the installation probably.
If you are using Win 10 File Explorer, go to the “View” tab and select “Show Hidden Files”.
These files are Protected by FS2020. You will need special Permission to access them.
Note: I am not a Steam user, I am MS Store.
So I am a Steam user, I have looked IN every folder mentioned, I have permissions, and hidden folders visible. still nothing! this is crazy. The only thing i can think of is something happened when i switched my c drive and cloned the old one to the new, but still, the exe folder should of copied over just like everything else has. i dont know what else to do. I really do not want to verify game files because that causes a fresh install of flight simulator as well as the 212gb of mods i have installed. I want to cry
ARe you just wanting it to make a desktop shortcut if so if you go into your steam library I believe you can right click on the game and select create desktop app.
no im trying to edit exe with notepad
The only change you can make to the exe is to use -fastlaunch, but that actually is done through the Steam client as a launch option.
Same happens to me. Folder disappeared, but space on ssd still used. I am a software developer, have several developer software on my pc, also on local accounts, other than the “cloudy” account for fs. If for example I changed from a local account directly to the fs account, fs will never start. Have to start new and go directly to fs account, then it starts.
From time to time it happens that fs folder is gone forever.
Conclusion: That has something to do with microsofts copy protection, but they don’t care, as this is a not so common problem.
