Can anyone shed light on resolution settings?
The G2 has a resolution of 2160 x 2160 per eye but in OpenXRToolkit i see it’s set at over 3000 - is this correct? Is there any point in being higher than the devices native resolution?

This is because of the optics distortion. There are many good explanations online so I won’t write another one. For short, due to the way the lenses in your headset work, you need to render at a resolution higher than the native resolution of the panel (typically 1.4x but this depends of specific optics) in order to get the optimal quality. Think of it that the optics in the headset will magnify pixels in certain regions of the panel, and if you don’t supersample (render at higher resolution), these pixels end up looking noticeably stretched out.
Thanks for that, i’ll go searching ![]()
