Flying just as an employee, all of my Extended Attack missions are gone. I had a few (usually right next to the Initial Attack version). But then I took one, crashed, and aborted the mission. Now I’m only left with Initial Attack in the Air Tractor.
I thought maybe I had to fly an Initial Attack for the Extended version to show up. Nope.
Is anyone else seeing any Extended Attack missions? I’ve got most of the US “unlocked” as well as some of Australia and Europe. Does anyone see ANY missions with the CL-415 ANYWHERE?
Given all of the forest fires in the Amazon rain forest, I deliberately started opening up areas in South America, starting in the North and working my way down. I did find an extended fire close to the Orinoco River and would expect to find more missions, the deeper I get into the Amazon.
Cool…I’ll start unlocking airfields and start the hunt.
Well, I found more Initial Attack missions where you mentioned, but no Extended. I wonder if it’s a bug since I crashed my last CL-415 and MSFS 2024 is punishing me.

I don’t know if the employee and freelancer missions are in the same locations but a lot of the extended attacks are in Africa. Hope it helps.

Yes, I’m afraid that there are some mission types that don’t show up much, for whatever reason and it’s not made any easier to find any that might be there, with the lack of a filtering/sorting system on what becomes a massive list of missions.
By the way, are you using fast move to get to another airport to open up another circle’s worth of the globe. It’s the quickest way and doesn’t cost too much, once you are in the general vicinity. 700-800cr seems to buy just about the right amount of distance, to get the new circle to just overlap the previous one(s). 
If it works I can check other locations for these missions. I have the whole world unlocked so if you need more just ask

And how in the WORLD (pardon the pun) did you unlock the WHOLE PLANET?
Yep…been doing that. Kinda wish there was an easier way (I’m getting carpal tunnel from scrolling so much).
yup, those circles don’t seem too big, when compared to the surface area of the globe. 
A couple of sacrifices and sold my soul to the devil Just kidding. I grinded the cargo missions as freelancer since they pay the most and spent most of the profits to unlock areas.

Ok, you’ve got to be kidding me. After the nightly “career” update…there’s only ONE left in Africa. Used to be 6 or 7. Are the Devs seriously punishing me or something?

They’re not just punishing you, but the mission spawning definitely needs “tweaking”, as that “London bus” approach to spawning missions just doesn’t seem to be right, at least not for a single-player career mode.
I’ve had similar experiences with helicopter S&R and VIP charter missions. The other possibility is that the way in which it is decided what missions have their icons displayed on the map at a lower zoom level might be inconsistent and when combined with a lack of a list filtering/sorting system, there might actually be missions there, it’s just that they’re near on impossible to find.
Either way, have a good Christmas and we can hope for better things in the New Year.

Also these missions are really awesome and impressive.
Even the initial attack are great and can be really challenging depending on fire location or scope area sizes.
Unfortunately it seems these have the same issue as parachutists missions, I always get a 0% “Execution time” score, no matter I finish the mission in 4 out of 8 passes. 
I’m still missing some Extended Attack that others are seeing, I think. However, I’m still finding more than before thanks to you guys.
But I still haven’t finished one completely without breaking the plane, or crashing. But that’s a skill issue. 
This thing does NOT want to get airborne on a full tank of water. Even 1/2 is a challenge. And my co-pilot telling me “Full Throttle” is a lie. Like lady, if I do that I’ll break the engines…again.
Mind you, these missions are definitely challenging.
Here is the scoop spot I got on my last mission…
The fire needed 5 passes, I only managed to fill the plane in one pass 2 times, I even needed 3 retries once and almost crashed in the trees a few times.
The keys here are :
- DO NOT allow the plane to go below 90kts while scooping don’t let the plane settle in water
- only use full power if absolutely vital, otherwise you might end up ruining one or both engines before the end of the day
- do not try to fill the plane at 100% at all cost, concentrate on flying the plane listen to your copilot for the rest who will help you with altitude above water, fill status, etc.
- watch out for trees, building, surfers and what not ^^
- bind the “emergency water drop” control to a big red button of your Hotas, it saved my life once by releasing my 6 tons of water in order to avoid the mountain ahead, the plane fly like a rock when full indeed.
- try to face the wind when scooping

For people having problems with engine malfunctions try this:
-switch the engine de-ice mode to off
-toggle the 4 bleed air switches to normal
Did this and the engine didn’t malfunction and the acceleration felt faster. Not sure if it was just luck or actually a fix.

And I’m getting quite a few more Extended Attack missions today. Plenty in Africa…a few in the SE USA, too. I hope they’re still around when I get a chance to play.
