In 2020, the F-18’s afterburner could be mapped to a toggle, thus I could throw my physical throttle all the way forward, resulting in full military power but not engage the afterburner unless I hit the toggle.
In 2024, no matter if I set an afterburner toggle or not, the afterburner engages on its own just from moving the throttle forward.
In 2024 Is there any way to have the afterburner engage ONLY via a toggle as it did in 2020? I’ve yet to find a solution.

Hello,
I do know what you are referring to between the 2020 F-18 afterburner and the 2024 F-18 afterburner.
What I think is happening in 2020 is that they had a maximum throttle of 100%, which was the maximum normal thrust. Then there was another button, or an ‘extra’ click, if you will, to move to afterburner in 2020. What I noticed from doing a test is that the normal range in 2024 F-18 is 80%, then from 80% to 100% is the afterburner. You would have to tell your throttles to stop at 80%, then use another button to click into 100% or afterburner. I’m unsure if this is a bug or how they wanted it to be designed in 2024. I am also unsure of a setting to stop throttles at a certain %. But that is what I just noticed, and I could be completely wrong here, but I thought I would share what I see since I’ve noticed it. Hopefully, it’s a bug, and they eventually fix it or maybe request a feature request to use the same throttle controls from 2020 for the 2024 model.
I hope this helps.
These have been my same findings. It’s a shame because the way it was in 2020 was a little more true to life dare I use that term.
