F/A-18 - Arrestor hook not animated?

While I saw and operated the arrestor hook lever in the new Asobo F/A-18 the arrestor hook actually did not lower (as seen in the externa view).

I tried to “fly low and slow”, flaps extended, gear down - and yet the arrestor hook didn’t come down.

I understand that it does not have any functionality just yet (at least not without third party extensions possibly), but I was wondering why I can operate the lever in the cockpit when the actual hook is not animated?

Or what am I doing wrong here?

For me the hook worked (on ground), make sure the battery switch is on

The launch bar can’t be raised or lowered and the switch is inop

I was referring to the arrestor hook

But yes, it works when actually following the engine start check-list (starting the engine with CTRL + E seems to “overlook” certain settings, so the arrestor hook won’t budge).
