In the marketplace of MSFS there is now an option to “buy” FBW A320. What version is represented by this option? Stable version or developer version? My intension of the question is, to find out, ehat is the better way, using FBW installer or the sim-internal update function in the future…
It’s the Stable version. You absolutely still have the option to keep using the installer to keep the aircraft up to date on all of the versions.
PS. I haven’t had an update on the Experimental version for a couple of weeks now. Not sure if that’s normal, but thought I might as well mention it here!
Thank you…, i don’t use experimental version, that’s why I don’t know, what about it is. I use developer version, there is nearly daily an update to register…
You should switch to the developer build. The developer build is the new experimental build. I can’t remember what the experimental build is now for, but they made it pretty clear that people who had been running it previously should switch to the developer build.
I am using experimental version (#ff7f81f) as it works well with my TCA Airbus Pack Edition, but I notice that there is no new updates since many weeks ago.
They state that the difference between development and experimental verison is that the experimental ver. will simulate the real flying system: fly-by-wire, autopilot/autoland, FADEC…
If now they abandon the experimental version, and focus only on dev. version, they should mention it on their installer, and I will switch to dev version in that case.
They have on their discord, websites I used experimental vers…now just use dev version. Researched it and found out…if you go onto discord its constantly updated on a wealth of information.
They didn’t abandon the experimental version. Re-read their statement on the discord
Sorry I meant to say they have not abandoned experimental version, at present the dev version is being updated. As there is a lot of work going on with the experimental version.
When I first saw this I was hoping I’d be able to have BOTH the stable and the developer version installed at the same time. Stable via the Marketplace and Dev in the Community folder which I’d keep current. Seems like it should be possible so I wonder why they prevent you from using both versions.
They merged the previous exerimental version into the development version. So custom throttle calibration that works with TCA, and custom autopilot is now in the Development version.
The experimental version is now being used to code the LNAV/VNAV function. But it’s still at a very early stage, so they won’t be updating the experimental version anytime soon until the LNAV/VNAV function is ready for testing.
So if you’re previously used the Experimental version, delete the mod, then fresh install the Development version instead, even the throttle calibration method is now new, so it’s best to delete the flybywire folder outside the community as well to clear your previous throttle configuration.
Once you load the new development version, recalibrate your throttle again in the EFB, and you should be good to go.
Guys one question, I still don’t get it. If I installer the stable version in the marketplace, and then I want to change to the development version by installing it through the installer, will the stable version get overwrite?
Stay with the installer if you want to change versions.
I have the Developer ver installed but I still am uable to configure throttle settings from the EFB
I have tried clicking settings but I still dont see it on the EFB
That’s not the development version…
Thanks but I am using the FBW installer to load at least what I thought was the development version?
Are you also on the correct installer version?
What’s the latest version of the installer not at my desk at the moment thanks for your help Neo
Delete the FBW aircraft from your Community folder, and uninstall/delete the installer you are currently using.
Go here to download the latest installer.
Ensure you select the Development button, then click install.
You should be good to go from then on.
thanks looks like I have a corrupt file plus other issues just reinstalling
Current installer version is v1.2.0
