FBW A320-Neo cannot be found in game although it is in Community Folder

Hello,

after a clean reinstall of the whole Sim (1.18.15.0), I installed the FBW Mod (Development Version) using the Setup.exe from FlyByWire…however, the aircraft does not show up in the sim, neither can I choose to fly with it from the World Map, nor find it in the Content Manager or Marketplace.

In my files the folder appears correctly in the Community folder. I already tried to install the Mod in several ways and also with the newest stable version 6.3, all that didn’t solve the issue.
Does anybody have the same issue or know a workaround?

Thank you very much!

The Setup.exe from FlyByWire only installs the “installer” you need to run the installed “installer” to install the aircraft.

Are you on custom msfs installation folder perhaps?

I am sorry I described it badly, I did install the Dev Version of the Mod using the installer of course.

What do you mean by ‘custom msfs installation folder’?
I installed the whole Sim on an external SSD if it’s that what you mean, but before the recent updates and the reinstall that didn’t cause any problems…the community folder is in its normal spot within the msfs structure and on the SSD. Is there anything you know of, that needs to be done differently because of this?

Thanks for your reply!

Yeah, custom msfs installation folder is anything that’s not the default installation path. If you install the whole sim into the default installation path that it provides the first time you run the sim, usually everything works well because all the references are linking to the right folders and everything.

But when you install the sim into a separate folder, in your case to your external SSD, that’s when we start seeing weird things like broken references. One example would be if for some reason your external SSD changed drive letter from D:\ to E:, then the whole sim reference would be broken and would ask you to reinstall the content. Not saying that it will happen to you, but there’s always that risk. It’s the main reason for me in years where I avoid having a multiple drive-setup in my PC. I prefer a single internal C:\ drive for everything and everything that I install goes to default path. But I understand not everyone is a fond of this way, which is fine.

That being said, you need to make sure that even on a custom installation path, make sure the sim is referring to the correct folder to load community mods. There’s a tutorial on YouTube somewhere that will show you how to use the DevMode tool to see which folder the sim is monitoring for community mods. Then make sure the FBW installer, is pointing into the exact same path as was shown in the DevMode. Because from what I’m seeing, your Sim is looking at a different community folder path from the mod compared to the folder where you install the FBW mod due to your custom installation path.

Ohh, right. Unfortunately my internal SSD doesn’t fit Windows and MSFS.

Thank you very much for your help, I’ll try to find the tutorial and then hopefully put in the correct the folder with the DevMode.
