FBW A320 NEO EFB Problem

I’m finally trying to learn the A320, after flying GA as well as the CJ4. Whenever I watch a tutorial about the A320 EFB, it doesn’t look like mine.
For instance, getting to the Settings. When I click on the settings icon in the lower left corner, the only thing that happens is the cup in the background disappears! No page opens on the EFB.
The is another settings icon on the top right which does open a page but it does not look like the settings page in the tutorials. For instance, I cannot find the option to set the throttle detents. Are there different EFB versions for this aircraft? I downloaded it about a month ago so I assume it is the latest EFB.

So… two questions… why does my default EFB page look different than the various 1 year or 2 year old YT tutorials? How do I get to the real settings page so I can set the throttle detents, etc?

Could you be confusing the FBW A320 with the Fenix A320 or Inibuilds A320?
Most videos online are the Fenix A320.

As for the Cup appearing, you may have to reposition your camera before pressing the settings button.

Thx! Got it working. Now I have a different problem and I’ve watched several videos to find the answer but …not yet.
I have imported the SB flightplan on the World Map menu, but when I go to INIT, and look at F-PLN in the MCDU, it is not there.
The videos say…to get Simbrief recognized by the MCDU (iniBuilds a320Neo) go to MCDU MENU, then ATSU… but I do not get the Pilot ID option. At the same time I have a message at the bottom that says INITIALIZE WEIGHT CG. None of the tutorials encounter this. I also get no request option if I go back to the INIT page. It seems my results are not the same as every video I watch on the MCDU. Why do I need to initialize weight/cg? Why, if I just imported a SB rouite, do I not have it showing in the F-PLN page?

Ok so here’s the order of operations in the FBW:

  1. Make a simbrief flight plan. use the A20N profile and fbw a320 plane variant
  2. Go into the sim, on the EFB make sure you have the simbrief account configured in the settings / 3rd party options menu. You only have to do this once, not every flight.
  3. on the first tab just import your simbrief flight plan
  4. Go to the INIT page on the MCDU
  5. Press request flight plan
  6. It should load automatically and you can go from there

You can watch this youtube tutorial, quite informative:
Real Airbus Pilot flies FBW A320 for the FIRST TIME | Is it REALLY as good as everyone says?

To note that the EFB might look a bit different here and there but it’s because they keep updating and adding stuff.

And for initializing weights and stuff, sometimes you can just press the key for that and it might auto-fill, but you would fill in real life by hand. This just adds some quality of life shortcuts here and there.

Regarding all the steps that he does in the youtube video, you can skip many of those, he does it properly, which is good, you can choose what to keep (many of the checklist items are not really required when you know stuff’s not gonna fail  ).

Thx for the info. I’ll watch the video and follow your suggestions, and report later (hopefully succesfully!)

You’ll succeed, 100%. The A320 is, I think, the best airliner to get started on with more in-depth simming. It’s super easy to start and you can be off and going in a few minutes if you do just the bare minimum checklist.
And the FBW A320 offers enough simulated systems with correct behavior to make it immersive and be able to learn a few procedures.

Thanks for the video! This helped me as well.
