FBW A320 rudder tiller question

This may be an obvious answer so apologies in advance! Does the new tiller rudder system for FBW A320 mandate that you assign the rudder to pedals? I was using auto rudder on prior version because I don’t have pedals and ever since activating this system and shutting off auto rudder per the instructions I can’t land or take off without veering off the runway. Guessing I need pedals to control the rudder?

You might want to look at the thread below for some discussion of binding the tiller function to an axis other than the rudders. There are several other threads on the tiller you can do a search on for more info on that process.
Basic answer….don’t need rudder pedals to control the tiller.

FBW A320 Tiller

With the new tiller function is there a way to assign the rudder pedals? Is it possible to switch between tiller and rudder using only the pedals or do you need a separate axis? I’m currently using the twist axis on the TCA Sidestick but find the range is too small to be able to make small adjustments. It’s really hard to taxi without overshooting all the time. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
