Feathering Questions

I’ve never tried changing pitch on the 930 while on the ground with the engine off. I’ll have to give that a try, because I believe you’re absolutely right that it shouldn’t change with the engine shut down.

P.S. Tested the 930 feathering with the engine shut down. Can confirm that it does show the prop changing angles until fully feathered, which I also believe is incorrect.

Could be wrong but I don’t think the Baron is one of aircraft that has been updated with the new prop physics.

Feathering does indeed work correctly - and look correct - in the DC-6, if I’m remembering right. I’ve never tried to shut one down in flight on any of the other twins in the sim. It seems to work ok on the ground in the Kodiak and MV Porter too, but that’s really just an animation thing.

The prop animations in MSFS are simply too basic. In fact a lot of them are, like the elevator and it’s trim, and other control issues.

In MSFS, the engine RPM is how fast the prop spins. Prop blade angle is directly tied to the pitch control, which is why you can see them move with the engine off. These are of course wrong.

There’s so many other issues like this too in MSFS, like the wind only affecting the aircraft once it’s moving.

Of course the good payware 3rd party aircraft have altered their animations to make it look correct, that’s what you’re paying for!
