[Feature Request] Subtle head movement to aid depth perception

Just putting this out there. Having watched a bunch of VR and TrackIR videos on FS2020, I’ve noticed that very small head translation movements add a lot to the perception of depth and maybe this is something that could be emulated. Obviously, this isn’t for everyone and could be disabled.

Right now the camera is very fixed to the seat with slight delayed rotational movement on turning. When we sit still, we’re never quite fixed and stationary, there’s always a little translation movement, especially in a moving vehicle. What I’m thinking is just very subtle translation movement (not rotation, but actual movement forward, back, left & right) or sway as you sit still. But this would be greatly affected by forces on the plane or movement or rotation of the camera in the cockpit. Nothing too obvious, just enough to perceive the external forces and see a bit of 3D depth.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about or you think I’m asking for some sort of bobble head movement that will make you sick, go have a look at some VR or TrackIR videos on youtube.

Love this idea!

One of the things I love about the new controller settings in SU5 is the ability to do this. Holding the left shoulder button and moving the left thumbstick will translate the camera around the cockpit while the right stick rotates the camera. This allows super easy and intuitive movement of the head position and rotation.

You wouldn’t realize just how cool this is until you try it. It makes it as easy to move and look around the cockpit as it is to move and look around in a first person shooter. They’ve got the movement speeds just perfect. .
