Fenix 2024 evaluations

Sent you PM with link to solve issue for time being.

I’m using the Fenix aircraft, and every time I do a cold and dark startup and push back, the plane won’t move when I release the parking brake. It doesn’t budge at all. The chocks are off, and there’s nothing blocking the wheels. I don’t know why this is happening. However, when I load the plane already started on a runway, I can move and take off without any issues. But when I try to do a cold and dark startup at the gate, push back, and taxi, the plane won’t move. Do you know why this is happening. Anyone else having this issue?

I have pedals with toe brakes and need to cycle these after releasing the parking brake before the aircraft will move. Not sure if this is intended behaviour however it works for me.

Yea but I don’t have toe breaks I just have a joystick with rudder input and I don’t think I have anything set with toe breaks

So I had this exact same problem and it was driving me nuts… I solved it by going through ALL of my device settings in MSFS 24 individually (keyboard, mouse, joystick, throttle, tiller, and so on) and then filtering by “assigned” and searching “brake” or “brakes” and it turned out by default they map “left brake axis” and “right brake axis” on my joystick… Once I deleted those assignments and confirmed there were no others that I was unaware of it worked as it should.

Thank you I’ll try that out at get back to you!

a friend of mine met the issue with the communication panel is not working, none of the buttons is able to pull out or push back, only tuning the volume. Anyone knows how to solve this issue?

Hold left mouse button and then press right button.

Had this issue. Best way to solve is to go back into the installer click the purple dot next to the date to let it scan to that version then click update should make them clickable.

In the beginning, everything seems to work well, but suddenly, I encounter two major issues. The first occurs during takeoff; it feels as though there is a strong crosswind pushing me off the runway. If I manage to get past that, the second issue arises during the flight. Without any warning, the engines begin to lose power, causing the plane to descend uncontrollably. Additionally, I am unable to ascend above 30000 feet. I’ve reinstalled the plane several times, but nothing seems to solve the issue. Another issue is related to GSX. You can see passengers boarding the plane, but once all the passengers have boarded, the plane appears empty. At the end of the flight, they disembark, so the animations during the flight are missing.

Any idea?

The missing passengers are fixed by deselecting and reselecting the Fenix in the seated passengers tab of the FSDT Installer.

Check the controller bindings — even the controls you might not be using — and redo the calibration in the Fenix. I had a similar problem and figured it was a stray binding. Make sure to check the bindings for all the controllers connected to the machine.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll try it. I did so many things that I’m unsure what I already did.

I had that weird crosswind problem and discovered I had the brakes on the steering axis. I never set that but the controller defaults are just a mess so it was just there. Been flying the Fenix almost exclusively for the past few weeks and it is very good once it is configured.

Now the 2024 dust has settled a bit and SU1 Beta is out, what’s the verdict on the Fenix A320 in the lovely friendly environment of FS24?

FPS compared to FBW?
I don’t use Navigraph, so expect the EFB link to/from avionics to work.

Do you mean default EFB? I don’t think if will ever happen, Fenix uses different navdata format and can’t read what MSFS provides.

Hmm, the EFB is fundamental to all Asobo planes.

It allows the avionics system to load and save flight plans in a standard way. There is no technical reason Fenix cannot integrate that way, apart from lack of development time at the moment of course.

The Fenix is great. So thankful for the Fenix since no other real planes actually work other than the A300/A330.

I don’t pay much attention to FPS because I lock to 30 FPS which is fine. Have no expectation of Fenix acknowledging the 2024 EFB but they can surprise.

Well, it’s not fundamental to iniBuilds planes included in the game. Maybe we should start expecting all default planes using default EFB before demanding it from 3rd parties?

Fenix didn’t bother with implementing navdata into their plane(s) in FS2020 so it probably won’t happen in FS2024. I am pretty sure PMDG planes also won’t support it, but we will find out in a few months.

Has anyone else noticed that when you uninstall the Fenix modules then uninstall the Fenix installer, the program stays in Program Files, AND Fenix_bootstrapper still loads with 2020?
