New to the whole airbus thing having flown the 737-800 all the time i decided to give the Fenix A320 a blast, its taking a bit of time to get used to it especially the landings.
Lot of the time i end up totally messing it up, off center landing, touch down then bounce, then hard landing no matter what i do i just can’t seem to get to grips with it, unlike the 737 which is a peace of cake to land, perfect every time, but this A320 is hard to get to grips with, am i doing something wrong?
Typically you flare it earlier compared to the 73. At 30 feet the a320 progressively pushes its nose down for the pilot to actively initiate the flare maneuver. So try to flare as early as the “30” call-out drops.
I too land off center 50% of the time, but only in 2d. I found out that landings in VR are ridiculously easy compared to 2D. Which makes sense …
Hey there, my friend. It would take considerable time to walk you through landing an A320, so I won’t attempt that here. I suggest you visit an excellent YouTuber [A330Driver] that has many excellent tutorials about flying the A320. He is a current real life A330 pilot with extensive B737 experience as well. He is also part of the PMDG tech team.
I don’t know him or represent him at all, but I do consume a lot of his content. Nearly all I have learned about the A320 has been from his videos. Check him out… I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed.
I used to land off centre as well. It was because I was looking at the landing zone.
Since I started looking towards the end of the runway, I haven’t had any off centre landings.
landings as above, at 30ft i flare and look at the end of the runway and then i’m pretty well on the center line… but after my front wheel hits the tarmac it just goes everywhere since the last update. Veering all over the runway with the thustmaster tca… cannot keep it straight let say between 120 and 60 knots…after that is straightens
