Fenix A320: Passengers and no Cargo; luggage?

Hello - this may be stupid but does anyone know if when loading PAX in Fenix EfB this includes their luggage? Just want to make sure weights are correct….

It also loads the payload (cargo + luggage). You can see that on the weights page of the EFB.

The question is, if I load 165 Pax and 0 cargo will it include the luggage? 1 Pax is I think 100kgs so I think yes?

If you’re worried about the passengers luggage, just define a certain amount you want to take with you. You get to decide, how many suitcases all the women are allowed to take with them. :joy:

In the Fenix the weight is then properly loaded.

If you were to use Simbrief to generate your flightplans and use the appropriate profile for the Fenix A320, then each passenger is apparently given an estimated average weight of 79kg and a “bag weight” of 15kg.

I’m fairly sure you can edit the Fenix’s profile if your pax have been to a health farm or tend to carry more luggage, for example. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sometimes strange things happen with the weight.

When I load for example 2 guests onto my flight, the weight of these 2 people is listed as 300kg in the MCDU…
I sometimes had 400kg too.

So the average weight is not calculated with 75kg nor is it 100kg per person, but it seems to be a complete random value ranging from 10 to 250kg
The calculation is very strange and seems to be in no way catered for charter or VIP flights.
(If one imagines two pilots and one stewardess added to the PAX weight the value becomes more plausible, but I have no idea how the weight of the flight guests in the Fenix is really calculated.)

If you’re sure that you have no freight being added to the weight of the pax, then you should perhaps report it to Simbrief as an issue.

Apparently Fenix Uses 77kg for crew members (pilots) which is a standard ICAO/EASA value IIRC, and 80 for pax, which again is somewhat standard in ICAO/EASA (pax weight calculation varies depending on the type of operation). If you put 0 pax you’ll have 154 of weight (2*77), if you put 1 pax you’ll have 231 kg and so on.
