Fenix EFB charts app & Quest controller interaction

I recently bought the Fenix A320 and have been loving it!… with one notable exception: I have trouble selecting charts in the EFB with my Oculus controller.

For the most part, the controller interaction with the Fenix EFB works great. That is, until I get to the scrolling left hand list of charts in the chart app. In that menu, it appears unless I keep the controller extremely steady (hard with a VR controller, even harder when the plane is bouncing around), when I press the button to select a specific chart, the action is being interpreted as a grip to scroll the available charts, not to select the chart I have highlighted. I think I’m averaging about 12 click attempts before I can actually get my desired chart to open.

Any tips to improve this situation?

In a word no..

I fly the Fenix a lot and have Quest 3. Unfortunately I too have the same problem with the controllers and in particular I found using the EFB with them totally impossible. I now use the controllers very little and have purchased a track ball which I find more easily to control than a mouse. It’s still fiddly scrolling navigraph charts and stuff in the EFB but at least I’ve found it at least doable.

Too bad a different button can’t be used for grip. Or if a “grip” didn’t scroll more than a couple pixels, count it as click.

Otherwise, I’d gotten to the point in other planes where the quest controller works great for everything, such that I put my mouse out of the way. So much more immersive to use the quest controller too.

I have the exact same problem. Anyone found a solution / workaround?

I haven’t yet, no.

Actually, the Fenix EFB situation seems to have gotten even worse for me— there seems to be an additional issue in charts, where releasing the grip after scrolling is interpreted as a zoom command. I haven’t yet bothered checking if others are reporting that.

Had also this issue but found at least a sollution for that. For some reason there was an action assigned to the grip button twice on the right controller (forgot the exact name), one with “locked” in brackets behind and one without. I deleted the “locked” one. After that the zooms stopped. Just found this because the left controller didn’t have the issue and also not the doubled entries. Hope it solves your case too.

Hello! Do you find a fix for that issue? I’m struggling with the same. Thanks!
