Fenixsim A320 Not Responding To Controls

I’m about 3/4 of the way done with my flight (in desc stage) when all of the sudden the plane stops responding to my controls. I’ve attached as short video showing me moving the stick around and moving the pedals around, but with the plane ignoring all commands.

I can also turn the AP on and off, but I cannot change the values (the knob just spins but no values change). I’ve tried pausing and unpausing and changing screens, etc. But can’t get the plane to respond to my commands anymore.

Has this happened to anyone else? Very frustrating as I made it this far in the flight just fine :frowning:

Yes, had this a couple of days ago about 3hrs in to a 4hr flight.

First time out of 10 - 15 Fenix flights in '24 and been okay since (1 flight).

wow, sounds like almost exact same situation. i’m sorry that happened to you. sounds like it’s a bug then if it’s happening to multiple people

When this happens pause the game and alt+tab to check if Fenix app is still running in the background. This usually happens when the app has crashed. I experienced this maybe two or three times in the last 2 years and I fly Fenix almost every day.

As mentioned, check to ensure Fenix app is still running, it’s rare, but it can crash.

I had the same issue — the MCDU was responsive, but I couldn’t adjust any of the bugs or change any AP settings. Turns out it was a “TOD Pause” that had been armed via the MCDU. Simply unpause it on the MCDU, and everything works fine from there onwards.

Honestly, Fenix should just follow in IniBuilds’ footsteps and display a full EFB popup saying “Game paused due to TOD pause setting” to simplify all this confusion.

you had to unpause from the MCDU? i tried unpausing the normal way several times but it had no effect

If you set pause at TOD, then yes you need to use the MCDU to un pause it.

As for the warning, I mean you did set it to pause… it doesn’t set itself so you should know…

Yes, it’s done via the config menu, but you need to click through several options to disarm it, and it’s never disclosed. I only realized this after getting frozen a few times when approaching TOD. I don’t understand why it needs to be so complicated. Pausing at TOD isn’t realistic anyway. It would be much better and more convenient to follow inibuild’s EFB pause message or adopt the typical game pause design used in X-Plane (like in Zibo or Toliss).
