Started tuning the sim again and finally some nice settings probably the smoothest its ever felt for me.
So I thought I’d record it and now OBS doesn’t want to play nice.
For some reason the playback is stutter filled but the actual in headset experience was very smooth.
As you can see I wouldn’t even have been able to endure the flight without puking the way OBS makes it look. A stuttery mess.
Anyone else having recording issues?
Are there any OBS alternatives?

Hi! The video looks cool (minus the stutter).
I use Shadowplay to record the sim through oculus mirror…I use audio software to record my voice.
Does it make sense?

Ok so capture the Oculus Mirror with Nvidia Shadowplay via Alt Z menu.
Giving it a try now!

Ok so I ran Shadowplay before starting MSFS so it would capture the desktop.
I maximized the Oculus Mirror Screen, but it still recorded the VR in the double screen goggle vision.
What am I doing wrong?
I don’t see an option to point the shadowplay directly at the oculus mirror
Run the mirror on the monitor Shadowplay is recording, so it captures it. There should be an option in the mirror menus to choose to record one eye - I cannot remember exactly since I am not home now. I actually just adjust the scale in Premiere and crop it to one eye for the entire screen.
Here’s what happened when I thought it was recording my Oculus Mirror and not the actual MSFS.
Maybe MSFS took priority of shadowplay as its always on top?
Im not sure since I use 3 monitors. Try using Premiere to crop the image to one eye.

Ok tried your crop method…it works.
No performance hog like OBS and no annoying FOV stencil judder on the sides anymore and best of all no more stutter!
Looks like this is my new recording method for MSFS for now, no Oculus Mirror necessary for this method either.
OBS still works great on the other games I record, but man is it a total performance eater with MSFS.
