This is one of those irritating things, when creating scenery in the SDK, it seems that the ground lighting has a mind of its own. Runway end lights can either be on posts or inset into the ground, but the logic that determines which is which is very inconsistent, and when creating a runway, the engine gives a random mix of the two across its width, and to make matters worse it changes each time I adjust the runway. If I want the lights to be all inset or all on posts, there’s no way to do it manually, so I have to adjust the end position of the runway by tiny amounts a dozen or so times before I get the lights all one or the other, and even then the lights off to the sides in the grass are usually different. I’m assuming this is a bug that will (hopefully) be addressed at some point, but even still it would be great if we could just have a tick box to choose one or the other.
Another minor thing, I’ve already run into multiple cases where the REIL’s or glideslope indicators need to be spaced closer together or further apart from each other, and specifically with REIL’s, some of the airports I’m working with actually have them offset from the threshold, but there’s no way to adjust their positions. Again, not a show-stopper, but annoying nonetheless.
Now, with regards to ground markings, a number of airports use ground markings that have black borders around them (threshold bars or runway identifiers, for instance). Maybe this could be done by having an alternative set of textures we can select? Or heck, even just having the ability to use our own custom texture would be great.
The size of identifier markings and the width of center line markings is also not always the same from airport to airport, so if there were some way to adjust the dimensions of those, that would be fantastic.
