Finish & Enable AIRWAYS in WORLD Map (and include in VFR / (IFR) map)

Accepting the fact that the WORLD MAP displays both VFR & IFR Flight-plans, and all Waypoints / fixes, without distinction of them being on High or Low airways –

The WORLD MAP “seems” to be partially finished, in displaying Airways

Without displaying Airways when in “IFR AIRWAY FP Mode”, it’s virtually impossible to enter a route , without reference to outside Charts, because most of the Way-Points cannot be selected with any logic, or consistently , to be part of a FP (airway) Route

ie any Way-point “can” be selected to to be added to the FP, but often they do not then appear in the FP, despite now being identified as added, or cannot be added where wanted, instead adding at “closest of nearest Way-point”, which may not be what is wanted.

This now makes entering an IFR FP in the World map both a frustration and futile task, with complex, interactions between what is selected, and ends up being included.

Thus is even more complicated by the WT addition of its now MSFS default enhanced GPS & AP systems.

But ChattyGPT sez you can add them?

Give me a sample RNAV flightplan for MSFS

Creating a sample RNAV (Area Navigation) flight plan for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) will depend on your departure and arrival airports, as well as any waypoints or airways you want to include in your route. Here’s a basic example of how you can create a flight plan within MSFS:
1. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator and select your aircraft and location.
2. Open the World Map from the main menu.
3. In the World Map, you can enter your departure and arrival airports by typing their ICAO codes in the “From” and “To” boxes.
4. To create an RNAV flight plan, you can add waypoints or waypoints along airways as desired. For example, you can click on the map to add waypoints manually or use the “Add a waypoint” option. This will create a flight plan line on the map.
5. To make the flight plan an RNAV plan, ensure that the waypoints are not too far apart from each other. RNAV flight plans are designed to provide precise navigation, so your waypoints should be reasonably close.
6. You can also use airways to create your RNAV route. To do this, click on the “Add an airway” option in the World Map and enter the airway identifier.
7. Make sure to set your desired cruising altitude in the “Altitude” box on the World Map. You can also set your departure and arrival runways if you have specific preferences.
8. Once your RNAV flight plan is ready, you can click the “Fly” button to start your flight with the chosen aircraft and route.
Please note that the exact steps and options may vary depending on the version of MSFS you are using, and there might be updates or changes to the software. Be sure to consult the MSFS user manual or documentation for more detailed instructions and to ensure compatibility with any mods or add-ons you might be using.

A: Create your flightplan on the G1000/G3000 instead, where you can actually add airways

At last – “ChatGPT’s MSFS for Dummies” – who need no stinking MSFS Documentation or Manuals !!

Just need to text to Speech interface, so one does not have to make the effort to actually READ, ----
and you then have “Full Documentation Immersion”
