Firefighting Mission - Unrealistic Objectives

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Initial Attack Firefighting missions forcing pilot to fill tanks on the AT-802 to maximum, reducing the aircraft’s performance below it’s effective range, it’s barely able to take off from the water and climb. Furthermore, the “maintain 100ft above fire” objective is completely unrealistic given most of the scenarios, where the fire is nestled in deep ravines and valleys covering in tall trees. In order to succeed, you’re required to fly with the floats touching the tree tops, and then climb out of the valley which is beyond possible within the flight envelope, causing an unrecoverable stall at extremely low altitude.

Until they do a rework of how missions of each types are generated we’ll keep continuing to have this kind of issues, It’s the same for heli AG mission, SAR, cargo etc etc.. :sleepy_face:

Charging £70 for a game that isn’t functional a year after it’s release, with 26.7 million made from PC platform alone. It’s a shell of the game they promise with AI running the script in almost every aspect of it. It’s shockingly bad. It should never have been released in it’s current state, and with every sim update, they seem to break more than they fix. I’ve had more luck recently with SAR, than I did in the past, but some of the casualty locations are awful.

if you recognize the flight can fail, e.g. firefighting in tight spaces, then don’t accept the flight. It’s overall amazing all the random flights around the world of different types. The issue it appears they didn’t account for is aircraft per runways per operating theater, isn’t always coherent.

In my opinion, they started with the MSFS 2020 code a year or soon after release and replaced the graphics engine & the GUI for the new activities. As they fixed MSFS 2020, those didn’t come over to 2024 as many issues are similar to the fixed 2020 issues. They’ve talked about 100s of programmers, lots of code, probably on the order of millions lines.

Just because it isn’t fixed now doesn’t mean it never will. Each SU has pages and pages of fixes; some intertwine with each other (the flight control issues in free flight also affect career, sometimes just the 2024 planes). SU4 is currently in beta (the next SU-5 is already coding), noting lots of fixes in the SU4 forum.

•I’ve tried filling tanks to 75% but the aircraft still didn’t like that amount. Even then it didn’t progress the goal/objective tab. Something seems to be off like the water weight or something. Shouldn’t have this much trouble trying to climb.
