[FIXED ON LIVE 1.19.8.0] You are missing packages that are essential to run Microsoft Flight Simulator. Please update the application and try again

So after you bought the DVD, did you solve this problem?

its still updating the fresh installation from the DVD, in around 20 hours I can tell you

You’re right. I also had to do a full download at each upgrade. But I ALSO had to proceed each time the MS jokers have made an update of their bloody Xbox. Each time they did it I was automatically unable to start the sim.
After a full reinstallation everything was in order again and I could fly up to the next Xbox update.
Means so many downloads. Fortunatly it takes me abt 4 h each time. I’m likely to be a happy guy on that point.
It’s most likely that the start of the Xbox together with the msfs is the source of the problem.
I’m dreaming of a separate system for both items.

Still all this does not lead to any solution so far.

Which country are you in? Why does the download take so long. Usually 150G can be downloaded in 10 hours

Don’t want to be pessimistic but once you’ll have installed with the disk, what about any further upgrade of the sim ? Will they issue some new disks ? I’m doubtfull and hope that this way of installation will work.
Keep us posted pls. Thks.

Germany, the most advanced technical country :grinning:

No, I doubt they will send me new disks :grinning:

I just thought I can skip downloading all of the files, which obviously the downloader will not download, e.g. the basic C152 and TBM for me.

Well, I already know I was wrong.

I myself drive a BMW…

COME ON, it takes 20 hours to download 100G content in Germany? It can not be

I don’t beleive that the problem is coming from the server.

With respect to a possible answer from Asobo or MS I think that owing to the number of messages about everything and nothing it’s almost impossible to do it for each item.

I’d prefer them to keep silent provided they are actively trying to sort all this mess out in the background and soonest as possible.

To make sure that they are aware of the problem the best is to report to Zendesk. The more we are the better even if they barely answer or send a solution promptly. I’m pretty sure that at least our reports are taken into considération. They can’t afford to mess it up after such an investment.

If you dont live close enough to the nearest town it takes 30 hours for 100GB, at least for me. Not every part of Germany has fibre yet.

Well, I thought the internet speed in every corner of Germany was very fast LOL. I was wrong

Try uninstalling with Revo Uninstaller Pro, it’ll delete everything to do with MSFS, including the directory paths, opposed to a normal uninstall. It should result in the fix. Revo Uninstaller is free for 30 days, without any payment info.

Have you tried this yourself? Just asking because the issue seems to be routed deeper than that. Others have gone as far as reinstalling Windows ( can only assume it was a clean install) and the error still shows up.

I’ve got 1gig fiber, so won’t take much more than a few hours for me to try your suggestion. At this point with zero support from MS on the issue I’m up for almost anything.

Nine days after my ticket I got a response atm from Zendesk. The content: things like trying to relog from the store, synchronize with system time and so on…
Waited for a response with big hopes and got this.
In my reply I sent the link to the disussion here. Maybe they will look at it and understand what our issue is

Jetborne could always use a few more players online.

Yes, I did a complete clean reinstall of Windows 10 but still have the issue.
Zendesk have provided no real help whatsoever. I feel like because this is only affecting a relatively small number of users, that this issue is being ignored.
So strange how the installer knows that mandatory content is missing but does not download it. Pretty sure this is Microsoft account related. I would guess that if we were to purchase another copy with a different Microsoft account, then it would probably work. Tempted to buy Steam version to test my theory.

Darn, I was hoping you weren’t going to say it was a clean install of windows. I would have had some hope..

I agree, it has to be a windows store/account issue. I’ve had several failed to sync with account warning boxes come up, when deleting a package to get it to run.

I’m also having issues with the Aerosoft CRJ CTD everytime I hit execute once a flight plan has been entered. Problem is I don’t know if its a MSFS issue or a CRJ issue at this point. Hard to put a ticket in with Aerosoft when the game isn’t working correctly.

I have Revo and did all my uninstall with it taking care to have the final check. It doesn’t change anything. Still the message once the sim in redownloaded.

Don’t waste your time it won’t work.
