it did work in x plane but…not here
Are you familiar with where your control files are stored on the PC?
no, cant say that i am…
MS Store:
c:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs
Steam:(I don’t have Steam but I think this is the spot) (x is the location where your Steam folder is installed)
x:\Steam\userdata[your Steam ID]\1250410`
Go in there and find the control files.
Some are just gibberish, leave them alone.
The Controls are in plain English.
Delete your profile(s) in the sim, then delete the control files there.
Try making a new profile in the sim.
Ill give that a try now…
One thing I noticed when setting up my Virpil TM-3 unit. I wanted to bind a switch to the parking brake. So, when I did it, for the sim control options to accept my choice, I had to put the switch back to off, then the options would allow validation and apply and save. So, try first engaging the lever on device and then putting it back to the default position and see if that works. Hard to describe here, and sometimes it takes 30 seconds or so for sim to allow for change. X-Plane is immediate.
NOTE: I setup my device my way, left sim for few days flying in X-Plane 11, came back and MSFS had changed some of my configurations. I had to re-bind them to get to work. So Asobo is messing around with the config code causing changes to occur. X-Plane is easier to config a device and for it to work. Overall, doing more flying in it than MSFS, not as big a resource hit either. PC runs cooler, do not give hoot about scenery, except when on final approach and landing.
We also should be able to delete the config code this sim saves, and start fresh, but alas not available. Sim is way too restrictive on what “I can do with my purchased devices” and how I set them up. Again, X-Plane is more friendly.
Thanks, ill try that.
I found the files, most are empty but i found ones that contain my hardware settings. they look like these? when you open they have device name?
30277333D4FC40C597532502C3AEF581
Yes. Some of the files in those numbered folders contain noting but gibberish, leave them alone.
The files that are for controls are in English.
do i delete those files ?
Yes, delete those, after you delete your profiles in the sim.
do I have to disconnect my hardware from the pc or leave connected ?
I don’t think it really should matter.
Bear in mind, this is a “try”.
I have no idea how successful we may be!
As I have mentioned, the cloud stores these as well, so we have to try and keep the cloud out of the pic as well.
That’s why it is important to delete the profiles in the sim and then save, and then delete these.
Hopefully, the cloud will recognize the “new” state.
so now after I deleted my profiles in the sim, the app data folders are empty. should i still delete them?
Yes, do so, it won’t hurt.
Now, have your yoke and throttle keyboard and mouse plugged in.
Leave the joystick unplugged.
Restart the sim and try setting up a new profile.
k will do, i deleted the files…let us see
nope, still the same ■■■■
Can you post a pic of the sim’s control page after you try binding the throttle to the command?
