Flight Logbook does not store the flight time of day by the actual time the flight occured

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: The flight logbook does not track the actual time (local to the User or Zulu equivalent) that flights occur. It saves the flight into the logbook by the Zulu time of day that the User chose. This makes the logbook not save flights chronologically as they were flown by the User. This reduces the logbook functionality by introducing inaccuracies and confusion.
The flight logbook should store the flight date and time relative to the User’s actual time (either in their local timezone or in Zulu). The flight logbook should not record if the User changes the time of day during a flight or if the time of day is changed in the World Map prior to starting the flight.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? Yes. Yes.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Every time.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Create a Free Flight.
  2. Set Weather & Time to Preset
  3. Select any weather preset.
  4. Select the Real Time slider.
  5. Fly a pattern around the airport.
  6. Observe the flight log.
  7. – Next Flight –
  8. Create a Free Flight.
  9. Set Weather & Time to Preset
  10. Select any weather preset.
  11. Adjust the time of day to earlier than the previous flight.
  12. Fly a pattern around the airport.
  13. Observe the flight log.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.
What peripherals are you using, if relevant:
[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? No.
[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?
[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?
[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

MEDIA

I flew the MXS-R and then the C400TT. The flight log shows the opposite.

Volanta shows the accurate order of the two flights in my local time.

Logbook from 26 May 2025 showing flights are recorded out of order and with the incorrect time. This shows the flights are recorded in whatever arbitrary UTC time is set during the flight, not what time the flights actually occurred.
This makes the logbook an unreliable source of accurate flight log keeping. I want my logbook to record the accurate sequence of flights as I fly them, listed in my local time as they occurred. The time of day I set in the flight is irrelevant to this logbook.

• The Powrachute Sky Rascal took place at 1224 local, followed by the AT-802, then the P-51, then the DHC-6 flights. The sequence that I flew the flights is recorded in the logbook incorrectly. The logbook recorded the flights in the sequence that the UTC time was set during the flight. Three of these flights were Challenge League activities where the time of day set automatically by MSFS.

• The local times of the AT-802, P-51, and DHC-6 flights were at 1253, 1308, and 1319. The MSFS logbook shows that I was using MSFS at 1001, 1720, and 2256. The times recorded are wildly incorrect and they’re listed as if the flights occurred hours apart. This logbook indicates that I was using MSFS at all hours of the day.

MSFS 2024 Logbook from 26 May 2025.

Volanta logbook showing the correct flight sequence.

The logbook saves flights with whatever time is set from the Flight Planning menu before beginning the flight. This results in the logbook displaying simultaneous flights, which are impossible.
The two helicopter flights were flown at different times but had similar in-sim time selected. All the challenge flights were flown at different times throughout the day, but all show they started the exact same minute.

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
