Could you give more information about the aircraft you were flying, how you set up the flight plan initially (simbrief import etc, if applicable), so that others can help you troubleshoot?
It happened more than 3 times, but I can’t remember the departure or arrival of each case, what I can tell, is that all of them happened flying a Boeing 747. The flight which made me to post this topic; Was an IFR (High Altitude Airways) Flight Plan from Montreal to JFK ILS Runway 04L. All waypoints and magenta paths disappeared from the VFR Map and from the Navigation Display (ND). (I can’t remember where exactly, but It was after reaching a Waypoint near New Jersey) The aircraft started to head to the West without any compressible reason. I had to change from LNAV do HDG, to correct heading. After I had to enter Arrival Runaway 04L manually in to the Flight Computer, waypoints and paths appeared again in the VFR Map and Navigation Display (ND). I turned again to LNAV and finally I could land without any problems.
I hope this can help to determine what I’m doing wrong. Just in case, before Update 1.25.9.0 I´ve never experienced this issue.
I am experiencing the same problem intermittently. I most recently flew BDL to JFK in the A320 and the flight plan disappeared when entering the approach procedure near JFK. If the flight plan is going to disappear, it appears to happen when transitioning from high altitude airways to the approach procedure near the destination airport.
This is odd, as I have come across the same issue at this moment in time. I created a flight plan and set it direct from the world map and all I find was the arrival airport with the last segment of the flight in pink. Usually the flight path shown on the map starts of at the departure airport with the first segment showing the path as pink. Once airborne the aircraft has flown one part of the flight and usually the path will turn to white and then disappears. What I also find is the flight path of the desired plan are white whereas they suddenly disappear and causes the aircraft to fail to fly on autopilot using the GPS/NAV system. I will admit that no problems arised until I started playing around with the camera views in the default Airbus A320 Neo. I was watching tutorials on YouTube where you can change the camera views and I don’t know if that had ‘messed things up’ or not. Having said that, I tried another plane and the same strange disappearance of the flight plan had ocurred. I don’t know if there is a solution to this error, but it would be good if someone came up with a solution.
Just a heads up, I find that it isn’t reading the waypoints, but you can only create a flight plan using the direct airport to airport and the flight path shows as a long pink line in the map.
All I can say is for anyone having issues with the flight plan disappearing is to delete your community folder and the simulator will rebuild a new one. (Don’t forget to back up your third party add ons.) Enter the simulator as normal and the flight plan should be fixed. Cut and paste your back up third party content into the new community folder and things should be back to normal.
I have experienced this issue last night also. Flight was from LJLJ to BEG. Using default A320 neo. IFR (High Altitude Airways). Auto pilot suddenly went out of its course sometimes of 3/5 of flight time. Also flight plan path disappers from radar and map (not the whole part. Some little part has remaind).
I was using default in sim flight plan. No imports.
Never been using any add-ons or putting anything in community folder.
I have had this problem with the 787 and the 747. For some unknown reason the aircraft leaves the route in the FMC although I don’t recall having the flight plan disappearing from the FMC. I try to watch the flight compared to the flight plan and will plot an intercept course to return to the flight path. If I am really lost, I ask ATC for vectors to the next waypoint. This problem happens randomly and I have not been able to recreate the problem
To be more specific.. I repeated the same flight, and again the Flight Plan remains in the Flight Computer and in the VFR map as well. But the Boeing 747 Autopilot, for an unknown reason misses the path, after LOLLY, DOORE and LENDY, before AROKE. it’s very weird.
