I’ve noticed an issue with the MSFS Flight Planner. It does not seem to list all airfields that are available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. For instance, EGUK (Peterlee Airfield) is accessible in MSFS but is missing from the planner’s database.
Other tools, such as Volanta, recognize this airfield, and an online search identifies its official designation as GB-0245. However, even searching for “GB-0245” on the Flight Planner website yields no results. Tested in different browsers.
Are there plans to update the database to include all airfields present in MSFS2024?
EGUK doesn’t exist as a facility on Jeppensen/Navigraph, which arguably is more complete an AIRAC than NavBlue or Lufthansa (FS’20/FS’24) databases. Is that a correct designation?
Screencap shows search results - there’s Nav points called EGUKA and EGUKA though.
If the facility hasn’t been updated in the host nation’s records and sent to ICAO for AIP inclusion, it won’t be in the most recent AIRAC cycle.
That’s interesting, and it makes me wonder why in MSFS2020 and 2024 there is an airfield with the ICAO code EGUK if it can’t be found anywhere else or only through indirect means. If even the MSFS’s own web tool can’t locate it, how does the game justify including it for CAREER missions? It feels inconsistent, especially if the in-game content references something that isn’t properly integrated into the rest of the ecosystem. Any clarification on how this works would be appreciated!
Working Title originally started a freeware Modification team that improved the MSFS 2020 Garmin G1000, G3000, G3X and PL21 avionics for various Asobo made planes.
Later on, Microsoft hired them to be a First Partner and officially make those changes in the sim. Today they are the First Partner for any Flight Management System modifications and creation in both MSFS 2020 and 2024.
They also have taken on the primary task of re-engineering the flawed Flight Planning that originated in MSFS 2020 and completely redoing it for MSFS 2024. So they would be the people to ask about why the AIRAC is missing certain airfields.
I have the same issues with every now and then with multiple airfield. 0A2 right now for instance, its especially frustrating when you get a mission and the EFB doesn’t generate the flight plan past the departure and the search option on the EFB is also broken and doesn’t work at all, so you go to the web flight planner to work your way around all those bug, but the airfield is missing on the web planner so there’s no way to have a flight plan at all
