Flight Planning Question

If I want to use one of the other routes that sometimes pop up in the planning screen (see pic below) as grey, and I suppose are intended as “other options”, how do you choose it? I’ve tried clicking, I’ve tried double clicking, I’ve tried clicking on a navaid in the “optional” route, and many other things, and nothing has ever happened.

So, if I actually prefer one of the grey routes (and in this pic, I wouldn’t, I just snagged it as an example because it doesn’t happen for every flight), how do I do it??

I just click on the box that contains the distance and time for that route.

I’m pretty sure I just clicked on the route but I don’t really use the inbuilt planner so it isn’t something I’ve done for ages.

@CaptainSkippy35, thanks, I’ll give that a try. Since I’ve moved to VR I’ve started using the built in planner more, but I really don’t have much of a clue how to do so.
