Hi all,
i am not a hard core simmer like most of you guys, but flying now and then preferrable different Airbus jets or the good old C172. As i am using the flightplanner build in in MSFS Map and no external tool or manual input in the flight computer of the airbus, i wonder how to get realistic flight paths.
When flying from e.g. Helsinki to India or Asia, i get routed straigt over russian and ukrainan teritory, resulting in non realistic routes and flight times.
Is there any update/tweak or else which let the flight planner in the map adjust the routes without manual input? I thought as airspaces are closed , an MS update should cover that, but maybe that was to optimistic.
Any tip welcome.
Thx
Hey there, @oliFS2020, and welcome back to the community!
Sadly, there is no way for this to happen automatically since the native MSFS flight planner is somewhat basic. What many do is use an external flight planner (like, SimBrief or LittleNavMap, both free) to generate the route, and then import that route to the MSFS flight planner.
Importing an external flight plan into the flight planner is done by hitting the spacebar (labeled “MORE”) which exposes a new menu at the bottom of the map labeled “LOAD/SAVE”. Navigate to the external flight plan you downloaded, and it will be imported into the flight planner.
I know this requires more manual input, but it does solve the problem. Hope this helps.
Edit: Added “flight planning” tag.
Simbrief Flightplans are pretty realistics. You don’t need a Navigraph subscription for the basic planning with an old airac cycle, just in case you stumble over the subscription note.
If you’re interested in a realistic flightplan you should leave the Worldmap planning and switch over to Simbrief.
thanks, i will try simbrief and littlenavmap…hope its not too advanced
