I detected just a hint of sarcasm there…
On a more serious note, three years is pushing it, even for FB, so I suspect they abandoned or postponed the project. Perhaps they’ll resurrect it now that BMW/Amsim find themselves in a spot of bother?

AFAIK they’re a small team and not so long ago they released KSFO which is a big project and KPHX is even bigger, I think. They also released a bigger update for KDEN in the meantime, so I’m not surprised by the bigger gaps between the projects. I don’t think they abandoned it, it will surely sell like hot cakes.
Just curious… what heinous crime did BMW/Avsim commit?
They (allegedly) stole from other developers/creators. So their add-ons were (allegedly) using parts of what others had already worked on and released or were planning to release.
Don’t know what was actually proven, but multiple developers brought it up and claim they have proof.
Sorry, but this is not what happened. AFAIK they were not using anything illegal or stolen in their sceneries. The problem was BMWorld guy’s piracy history and his unprofessional behaviour that looked like a personal vendetta against Flighbeam. The original statement from Flightbeam is here:
I’d rather not make too detailed a comment as no evidence was ever presented in the public domain. I’ve not found anything in any of their sceneries that seems stolen (their assets are actually quite unique).
The bigger issue I think was their use of (alleged) underhand methods to dissuade customers from buying other devs’ versions of their airports.
Of course both BMW and Amsim denied all allegations but their products are still unavailable everywhere but the official Marketplace — which likely means they haven’t presented any credible evidence that refutes the complainants’ claims.
It’s a shame because their later work was among the best. But with little further support for their KPHX outside the Marketplace, another developer might be tempted to take it on (that’s if Flightbeam have abandoned their proposed version).
There’s still a KPHX channel on the official Flightbeam Discord server, so I’d say it’s probably not abandoned. But they tend to keep things close to the vest and don’t put out a lot of info too far in advance of release.
Very true, KSFO dropped with barely any notice. I wish they’d release more per year but that’s just testament to how much I like their sceneries. They’re not the absolute best, modelling-wise, but their texturing is among the most convincing and they have a knack for overall accuracy.
KPHX would be a lovely addition for them, and they’ll be aware more than most that their competition is currently on a bit of a sticky wicket…
Perhaps they can return the favour and tackle KMEM?!
I have the KMEM and it’s fine - not the best, but far from the worst. I’m glad it exists, if for nothing else than to pretend to be a freight dog in the 777F and MD-11.
A Flightbeam version would be fantastic, but not holding my breath.
Just so people can see the announcements LVPack was speaking about, Flightbeam announced KPHX in November 2021 and reiterated that it was on their roadmap in May 2022.
Everything else in those announcements has released, so I’m going to assume that KPHX is coming.
Thanks for clearing that up. I read way too much about it a little while ago but I think most of what I read was speculation because it wasn’t directly from FlightBeam.
