I saw several great reviews of BMW/Flightbeam Studios KPHX but it seems it has been removed from Orbx or anywhere else. I’ve tried several links. Why was it nuked?
Is there no good KPHX (a major airport and hub) scenery for FS2020?

BMWorldamsim has been removed from many outlets. Flightbeam has never done a Phoenix Sky Harbor for MSFS, although they did a nice one at the time for P3D.
I just noticed during MP updates that they are now called Glideslope Pro. All my airports from that studio are now renamed as such.
When I googled Glideslope Pro I just got a link to the
“unofficial” FS Marketplace but I cannot find anything called Glideslope Pro there. Do you have link? Do they have KPHX?
I had bought KPHX in the Marketplace on Xbox, so no link. That one and all their others were in last night’s update with the new developer name. Was a surprise to me, don’t know anymore than that.
Thx for the info. I went to Marketplace and there are now 2 KPHX options. Glideslope Pro and SamScene.
I have had other SamScene scenery and it seems pretty good. Curious about the Glideslope Pro. ■■■■, now I have to make a choice!
I have not tried it since last night’s update, hopefully nothing but the name changed as I found it to be excellent on Series X!
I just looked at the SamScene screenshots and , having been to Phoenix many times (I live in Tucson) there are a bunch of prominent buildings in the scenery that I’ve never seen. It looks a little too “decorated”. The airport itserlf is OK.
The Samscene scenery features Phoenix SANYA airport in China, not Phoenix SKY HARBOUR, USA. Don’t buy the Samscene airport as you’ll end up with totally the wrong one!
As for BMOTW/Amsim, yes, they’ve rebranded as Glideslope Pro, presumably to distance themselves from the scandal that unfolded a few months ago. I too had a bunch of updates on Thursday. I decided to fly into CYUL to see what’s changed, and it seems they’ve improved optimisation as I don’t recall it running so smoothly.
I hope Glideslope settle their differences with other developers — the MSFS community is worse off not having them around — their stuff isn’t absolutely top-tier but it’s very nice.
By the way, you should still be able to buy their Phoenix at the in-sim Marketplace.
Yes I figured that out and bought the actual Phoenix from Glideslope on the marketplace. Definitely didn’t want to fly from Tucson to China in the TBM930 LOL.
And if you like cargo, there’s no other option for KMEM.
I have their CYUL, KMEM and KSAN and I’m pretty happy with them. I didn’t know they’re under a different name now, thanks for that info.
I got the Glideslope KPHX, and it’s excellent but I can’t use it. My frame rate and stuttering are horrible with it.
It’s beautiful to taxi around and gawk, but landing there at night was next to impossibe with the jerky frame rate
What a shame.
I’ve got a 2.5 year old PC with a decent GPU and 32gb RAM.
I have other airport add-ons, maybe not as major, and maybe nighttime is more demanding…?
But so far, this is the only one where performance was so bad that I almost couldn’t land.
The default kphx is not that bad and at least it’s usable.
I find airports perform better at night, which would make sense I guess as there is less for your hardware to render.
Interesting, I have no problem flying PMDG airliners into and out of their Sky Harbor on my Series X with a 32-64GB rolling cache on. What else are you running on your PC that may be competing for performance? Just a thought. This airport is worth figuring out how, IMO.
I’m still trying to figure out if the effects of rolling cache are anything more than a placebo, and whether there’s a difference between using it on Xbox and PC…
Don’t know really, except to say since SU15 on Series X, I’ve had a 32 to 64 GB RC and haven’t looked back. Now with streaming & 24, I see no reason not to have a RC. We will get out of this weird transitional period where there are old and new resources, then things will settle down. As for the folks looking forward to downloading in 24, the questions around how that DLC gets updated have not yet been answered to my knowledge. Too much still in flux there to really say which is better (or more convenient), downloading or streaming. If it works, I’m all about the convenience!
One word shadows! I think what with would be a real hit to night performance is additional lighting.
There’s a lot of detail that simply gets hidden at night — but I’ve not actually noticed if we still get shadows at night from artificial lighting? In theory, artificial lighting should create more shadows as each individual light (or array of lights) will create numerous shadows (extending in different directions) of a single object. In the sim, I suspect we just have slightly darker areas to simulate these shadows? I’ve not actually made the effort to look!
Getting back to the original title of this thread, “What happened?” Keep in mind, it’s only been 3 years since Flightbeam announced they were going to release KPHX for MSFS. Give them some time. I’m sure in another 2 or 3 years they’ll eventually get it released.
