FlightSim Studio B727

Turns out that the weight values from Simbrief were sending the CG way out of bounds! So, your suggestion is exactly the culprit. I went into the Weight & Balance menu from the toolbar and did some shifting around—viola. All good.

Is there a way to update the Navdata in this aircraft. It does not appear in the navigraph hub

@autopylit88 For which navigation option are you wishing to have updated Navdata for? If you use the included Garmin GPS packages, the Navdata is automatically updated on a monthly basis within the core simulator.

The MSFS Team

The FMS option that is not a garmin, not sure what it’s called at the moment. It had the SIDs / STARs loaded but had an old database with waypoints that don’t exist on the current version of departures. I was hoping there was a way to manually update the navdata.

Hey @autopylit88,

That’s a great question actually, I’m not entirely sure what database they’re utilising for their new GNS-XLS option. I also don’t see any information via their website regarding NAVDATA either: GNS-XLS (FMC) | FSS Documentation Hub

I’d recommend joining the FSS Discord Server, which seems to be very active, to see if you can get any answers there!

They are incredibly helpful there!

It seems that after a while of flying with the Navigation automatics on this aircraft (on both the FMC and INS variants), the HSI course selector suddenly changes to 10 degree intervals instead of 1 degree.

Anybody know if this is some sort of bug or keybind that triggers this?

I have seen this too, it’s hilarious that this 10 degree bug still exists in certain situations, it’s been happening since the beginning of MSFS 2020 at least.

As far as I remember I was able to solve it, but cant remember how, probably by pressing ESC key then going to settings or something, that will cause it all to be re-loaded when you go back live.

Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll try that out! Yes, it’s very random and thus difficult to recreate the issue.

I’ve noticed that tuning an ILS will often also set the course automatically (I’m guessing for ease-of-use), and I’m wondering if it’s this ‘system’ that is bugging out sometimes.

It certainly could be, but there have been problems with the 10 degree rather than 1 degree since at least 2020 (obviously on different planes), it seems mostly gone, but shows up occasionally and unexpectedly.

The 727F just released on Xbox but i see this error on the marketplace page

I see the same error.
This needs investigation by someone and perhaps withdrawn from MP until fixed?

Bought it, expecting to be disappointed after the great FJS 727 in xplane, but it’s good. If not for the worst switches in simulation history, I would probably even say that it’s very good after all those patches. Don’t expect a proper full high fidelity plane though, it has its moments of deeper simulation, but the full package is rather medium fidelity with some nice highlights here and there.

That saying, the 727 is a demanding plane for developers because so much of its inner workings is visible on the engineer’s panel, so it’s harder to hide that something just pretends to be simulated.

Not sure if it’s the same in msfs2020, but I love hand flying and landing it in msfs2024, you can totally feel what and why it will do and when it’s about to ruin your day if you don’t watch out. Great job on the flight model.

I’ve used it on PC, and it was stable, the performance was between good and average. Won’t win any prizes for optimization, but is somewhere between the bigger planes in msfs. And it does have a lot of detailed objects in the cockpit, with there also being like a million small lights everywhere, so the impact is understandable for me.

Other than this, it’s a 727, it’s one of the coolest and sexiest planes in existence, so it gets bonus points either way

Hope FSS will continue to improve it, because there is still a lot of potential (and they seem to do it with the expansion pack incoming).

Hello…I have flown this lovely plane twice now in FS2020 but both times the engines quit when I’m on approach to land. Engines 1 and 3 quit first then 2 goes down and I crash each time. I have plenty of fuel and am using the little Iphone flight engineer to do all the checks. Any ideas why this is doing this ? Thanks JB

Hi @FLYJB ,

Make sure that the fuel settings are correct. You should have the "Tank to Engine " configuration for landing.
To do this proceed as follows:

  1. Make sure that you have a roughly equal amount of fuel in each tank. Note that no.2 tank holds a lot more, so read the no.2 tank fuel quantity gage carefully.
  2. Make sure that all fuel boost pumps are ON and running. (No amber "Low pressure " light, unless you are VERY low on fuel.)
  3. Ensure that crossfeed valves no.1 and no.3 are CLOSED and that the crossfeed valve no. 2 is OPEN.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for quick response…I’ll try this on my next flight and will let all know

Do the liveries for the FS2020 version also work on the 2024 version? Wasn’t sure if the 2024 release is a full native model or just the 2020 version running under 2024…

It’s the latter one.
All the MSFS2020 liveries that come with the aircraft model in MSFS 2020
are there to choose from in MSFS 2024

For addon liveries most do, though there’s some that don’t show up for some reason.

Just for people that didn’t follow the FSElite Interviews.

The Super Expansion pack is expected in 2-3 months and the -100 version of the plane probably early 2026.

Not sure I’m interested in any of those yet, still need to buy the cargo version first, but it’s great news for fans of the plane, because this will mean lasting support for the line. They also said that the sales are good, so they want to focus on it for now. (plus stuff for the E-jet guys, not an owner, so wasn’t paying that much attention :P).
