FlightSim Studio B727

I’ve deleted it. Here’s what I want to know: why an expansion? Why not just update the original? Don’t they have the code for the original?

I’m still having cockpit dome lights and panel ilumination not working even after this update.

Reworked 3D model dependencies work perfectly fine for me now. Only thing I want to mention is, that 3D models of cargo are still visible when there is 0lbs Cargo loaded.

I contacted support about this months ago and they said no way to remove that cargo which is a disappointment

There’s a new update for the experimental branch available…

V2 is in the works

Hi all , i spent a lot of time in the real 727 travelling to the artic sitting behind the captain but wondering about EPR management as the center engine the EPR’s are set different . How do you set the epr’s in the climb ? and i notice that the fuel does not decrease as you travel when you look at the fuel in the engineers panel - i have both versions the original cargo and the super pass and cargo version —Louis cyyc

727 100 is nice to have if you have 200 already? Which to learn first?thanks i can t establish :expressionless_face:

How is the performance now of the 727 freighter on Xbox MSFS2020 ?

Hi,

Usually the FE sets the climb thrust upon the flying pilot’s command. He uses performance tables to obtain the EPR values for given altitudes and temperatures, corrected for bleed air usage.(anti ice or non standard bleed configurations etc.)

If the FE was busy, the flying pilot would set about 90% N1 on all engines for the climb, until the FE would fine tune the thrust settings.

The main reason for the difference in EPR is that normally number 2 engine bleeds are closed during climb, while engines 1 and 3 supply bleed air for the air-conditioning packs. (Some operators would change the bleed configuration in cruise to prevent compressor stalls of the number 2 engine.)

On the Super27 the power settings would be quite different for the pod engines because they were actually a different engine model. Even during engine start, the starter cutout was at 38 % N2 for engines 1 and 3, while engine 2 starter cutout was at 35 percent N2.

Hope this helps.

Every time they update the 727-200 something new and or weird gets added. Last update made it so you cannot use ATC (yes I made sure everything was on and set correctly) communications at all. It worked fine before the last update, but now, nothing, no ATC service It’s just the usual drop down with the numbered communication choices but none respond to keyboard or mouse clicks. I’d tell their support folks but they are slow and as helpful as an infant in a blizzard.

Otherwise it’s still a very good plane.

ATC no longer works. I can open the sim ATC menu but cannot click on or select any of the options and this is exclusive with the B727. Can’t get clearance, can’t announce taxi, etc nothing works with ATC. It’s always something when there’s a new update. FSS Support is terrible by the way…. Slow and poorly trained.

Thanks for your info Super 27 i found my no consumption problem —the update clicked the Unlimited fuel check box , so 90% N1 is my answer .When i fly in the islands where its real hot i really have to set my weight with the charts or i can’t get off the strip, very realistic . I fly with Simfly in case you don’t know we fly for real money and i was getting dinged 5 points every flight for -no fuel consumption - what version do you like better ? and during taxi did you shut down the top engine? you answered my questions good- thanks Louis cyyc

Hi,

I have bought the freighter and the Super27 versions, but I fly the freighter version only. Still may get the passenger version though.

Although I flew the Super27 a lot IRL,(hence my user name), I don’t like the way it was implemented by FSS. Never saw an auto pilot like theirs in real life. Don’t know if it even ever really existed like that in a 727. (unless it was really heavily modified)
I do know that the autopilot of the - 100 by FSS is completely wrong. The real 727-100 used the Sperry SP-50, yet FSS modeled the SP-150, which was used on the - 200. That is why I never purchased the 727-100 from them.

Occasionally we did shut down the number 2 engine during taxi in after landing, although it was not a company procedure. It was at the pilot’s discretion.

Still wish that FSS would fix the Essential Power System for the 727.

Ahh interesting -that’s why i asked you - it’s the only jet i fly in the sim, i find it a very good hand flyer . Apparently for them it was a 5 year project, according to A330 driver on U tube who makes a lot I think good videos on it and sounds likes he’s in direct contact with the team .
