FlightSim Studio B727

We already delivered the package to Microsoft

That was great news! They finally said this in the manual.

Looking good from reading through the manual! Is there a PDF manual somewhere? Prefer that to clicking around a website if it’s an option.

If I hear the flying experience (flight model, controllability) is good from people who know their stuff like @Super275327 I’ll likely snag this.

I want systems to be convincing, but it’s the flight model that’s most interesting to me. Getting a loaded 727 into the air on a hot southern day (one of the scarier takeoffs I was had as pax in a real 727), coming in for a landing with those epic slotted flaps…

Bonus points if I can drop DB Cooper out of the tail.

You’re out of luck — that was a -100!

I enjoy FSS’ E-Jets but they are a WIP. That said, FSS have never hidden that fact. The 727 seems to be a more complete aircraft, like their Tecnams (same team I believe). There was never going to be a need to create a complex glass cockpit for the 727, so any inexperience FSS have in that department is probably immaterial.

I’m very impressed with how it looks so far. Textures initially looked a little clean and sterile but we were warned we were looking at a beta version. They looked far better in the weekend’s previews. Flightdeck looks good, and handling seems to be spot on. I’ll definitely get this but will probably wait for Contrail.

The SWS/FSR 727 is going to be at least another six months and I honestly don’t believe it’s going to be that much (if at all) better. I don’t recall whether SWS/FSR planned both pax and freight variants?

Will definitely wait till it’s on Contrail - I’m not giving Aerosoft any more of my money.

I was planning to do that as well but I’m afraid I’m too weak to resist.

Oh it feels amazing to have this iconic aircraft in the sim!

For those that have picked it up, what do you think? I’m on the fence and would love to know if you think its worth the outlay. Thanking you in advance.

If you’re like me worried about Aerosoft’s flexibility to deliver updates, you can buy it via Aerosoft but activate your serial on Contrail and download and update the airplane over there. It’s already listed on Contrail.

I’m waiting for the other 727, I prefer passenger version. United, American, TWA liveries.

FSS are working on pax version too.

Yeah looking forward to it. Whoever has a pax version first I’ll get most likely. Unless one is $60 and one $20; then cheaper the better as long as it visually looks good enough.

Well, I’m still on the ground, getting familiar with the cockpit but I must say this FSS rendition is visually really nice. I also like the old school clipboard instead of EFB and a mobile phone for crew management. And it has a fully functional INS which is cool. Last time I used this was in Concorde for FSX (and was promised by DC Designs for their Concorde for MSFS like one year ago and still not delivered). I even think FSS will bring the pax version sooner, also with the advantage of most serious bugs eliminated thanks to the F variant.
