It’s decent. Not PMDG or Fenix level but you can fly from gate to gate without any problems. Not everything is implemented in the FMC, most of it is still grayed out but the important stuff is there. It’s a highly automated plane and I haven’t tried to ‘break’ the plane to see if all the systems work. But I like to fly the aircraft from time to time.
Yes as long as you’re not too worried about the lack of VNAV it’s a fun aircraft and one that is in my regular rotation alongside PMDG, FSLabs etc.
There is at least a banana arc to display the estimated end of descent at Navigation Display? Like 737?
Sadly no, no “banana” or arrow pointer. Minus VNAV it’s currently all a case of deciding your own TOD and rate of descent (I just use V/S mode to descend with. Fun aircraft to fly non the less, and VNAV due at some point in the future.
Early on in the EA, the community on FSS Discord actually voted against the “banana,” as the real plane doesn’t have one, and it would have used up time and resources to make something that, ultimately, was an unrealistic crutch…
New update out-
Hmmm was hoping for the vnav … but ik … still good improvements
Hello friends. I´ve noticed that the speedbreak (those ones placed in the wings) doesnt work. When decending to the destination, no matter how much I pull the speedbreak the aircraft doesnt reduce its speed.
Anyone having the same issue?
Yes, the speedbrakes have no effect for me either.
Interestingly no report on this on their Discord channel. I’ll try tomorrow.
I’ve tested E190 and the speed brakes work fine for me…
The 170/175 speedbrakes have no effect, but the animations are visible i.e. the cockpit lever and the brakes themselves on each wing.
Exactly. Animations are visible but speedbreak has no effect at all, the aircraft dont reduce its speed even in 1%. Im talking about e-jets 170/175
I would also like to capture the RNAV GP (Glide Path) on an RNAV approach - the APPR button won’t activate on RNAV approaches.
RNAV approaches are not modelled yet. They probably need to finish their own custom FMS first.
The approaches are there and can be selected in the FMS - only the glide path is missing. A bug, maybe?
No, not a bug. It’s just not modelled. Yes, they’re in the navdata but that doesn’t mean the aircraft’s AP can handle the approach.
I’m on the FSS Discord link from the FSS website/purchase link but I don’t see any of these posts, what gives?
You have to go to the welcome-info channel, and there is a post where you can opt in to different channels by reacting to the post. The 4th option is for the 727 channel.
