Hi guys. I please need help related to the following situation: I have the FlightSimulator.exe file installed into the following both paths:
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
and
C:\Xbox Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content
The first path is linked to the socond one, but it was the original installation path when I installed my MSFS (Microsoft Store version).
I would like to come back to the previous situation, that means remove the “C:\Xbox Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content” path and restore the original situation which was represented from one only and unique path, that was: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.
May someone help me?
Kind Regards,
Arcangelo.
I would not change it back, to one because the xbox games path holds the executable flightsimulator.exe and many ,dll files basically it is the heart off the sim
The 2 directories are connected yes and they are also related for the first one holds the sim setting for your pc at home
Fiddling in the xbox games etc folder can seriously damage your flightsim experience like ctd etc

Why do you feel you need to change it?
Because in the past, when the only path for FlightSimulator.exe file was “C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe”, I had a smoother flight experience and a more simple directory structure. I decided to move to C:\Xbox Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator following instructions by a forum starting from the Xbox app settings because, as you know, the WindowsApps folder is more “rigid” in terms of Administrator privileges. But now I don’t know how to restore the previous situation. However, in general, I don’t have issues with the MSFS experience, except some CTD starting from SU14.
Regards.
It actually should be quite easy.
I would first put your content folder back with the rest of the sim, and make sure that the UserCfg.opt file indicates that.
Then from the Windows Apps & Features menu, find Microsoft Flight Simulator and select “Move”.

Have a look at this video. It’s about a separate issue, so the context might not be familiar to you, but he does talk about what you’re asking about, and it might be of some assistance.
He’s not the best narrator in the world, but stick with it.
