Hi guys, can someone explain me what is the real difference between saving a .FLT file and a .PLN file
besides from knowing that the first one saves a flight and the second once saves a flight plan?
i noticed that .FLT (flight) can only be saved while in world map. During the flight there is only the possibility to save a .PLN file.
so assuming i finish with my flight planning in the world map and i save both the .FLT and .PLN. Then start my flight and i want to save my flight (including the flight plan) during the cruise with the idea to proceed with the flight hours later, how should do i do this?
You’re wrong that in flight you can save only .PLN file, that’s wrong. On flight you can save only .FLT (flight state) file and not Flight Planner .PLN file. This is BUG that I sent from first days of sim release, also not possibility to LOAD (this is more important) .PLN file after crash on GA aircrafts, LOAD .FLT is working but I need completelly set again full FPL after crash so this is not solution. Also sometimes LOAD .FLT is impossible - does crash of sim.
yes, you are correct, only an .FLT file can be saved.
so from your investigation it seems that at the moment is really not an option to save and load a flight with flight plan successfully, sad, specially if the sim crashes in mid flight!
When you save a flight, both files are created. The problem is that saving a flight usefulness is severely limited by a series of bugs, including the inability to change things after loading a FLT file even from the World Map screen.
I am not sure if Asobo is planning to fixed the saved and load functions in the near future. By reading the development roadmap they presented this week there is nothing referring to this issue
because most of users probably don’t understand to this problematic, what is important really for us and play game not sim. In case we understand all to this, some topic with vote possibility is here and due that Asobo will need take this important thing to account. What I understand to this time, no one care…
