Hi, has anyone managed to get FltPlan Go up and connecting to FS2020 running IOS 14? I am wondering if this is the reason why the app wont connect to the SIM on my system.
Yes.
IOS 14.01 and FltPlan Go 5.0.5 (Build 1097).
Haven’t been able to get my to connect since going to iOS 14. Do anything special to get it running.
From the iPad, no problems. From the iPhone, not so much. I’ll have to try turning off cellular and connect with WiFi only.
Presuming you had it running before iOS 14 and have the 5.0.5 build of FltPlan Go…
Yup. All up to date. Was holding off going to 14 and saw few people saw was all good. Run the connection app on pc and when I click connect like before on the iPad it just says connecting but never does.
Well… Time to eat some crow. It was working fine last night, however, after a restart of my iPad, I can no longer connect either…
Same problem here. Had fltplan go working fine on my ipad pro until this last MSFS 2020 update to 1.9.3.0.
I am using FltPlan Pro right now and it’s working fine. Have you downloaded the update (version 5.0.5) from the App Store?
Hmmm I tried version 5.05 on my iPad today and it wouldn’t connect but it was working after the previous Fltplan Go update. What version is the connect app you’re running on your Sim PC?
I’m running Flight Events 2.2.0.0.
IPAD IOS 14.0.1
NVidia driver version 456.71
Windows 10 Version 2004 (with latest drivers)
MSFS 1.9.3.0
First I load MSFS and ensure I am parked on the ramp at an airport. Otherwise I will get a blank map for example.
Then I start Flight events with the tabs:
a: Settings “Broadcast data to local network”
b: Simulator “Strat Flight Tracking”
Finally the FltPlan Pro app on the IPAD and “External” on “X-Plane”.
Note: My IPAD is connected directly to my PC via USB cable (not Wifi).
Hope this helps…
I am using Fltplan go v 5.0.5 and IOS v 14.0.1. I can not get fltplan go to work with msfs 2020 v 1.9.3.0. It was working prior to the FS 2020 update.
Emailed FltPlan go and they said they are hoping for update next week that will work for everyone. Some people are having issues other are not so it’s hard to trace. Something with wifi to adsb for some real flight stuff as well.
Hopefully after Fltplan go does its update it will work with IOS 14. In the meantime, Fltplan go is working OK with the Android version.
IOS 14 has some new networking security feature. I’ve had several apps prompt on first launch after the upgrade to allow local network access. You can see what apps have requested access in Settings > Privacy > Local Network. Unfortunately, FltPlan Go does not prompt so I’m assuming that is what the issue is that they need to correct. How any of you are getting it to work is a mystery. I’m curious if the app shows in the Local Network list.
The lesson learned here for me is to wait for FltPlan to certify an IOS upgrade before making any changes.
It works sometimes for me. Most of the time it does not. So I’m still waiting for the update and hopefully it’ll work. It’s a great tool for studying the procedures and getting familiar with some airports.
It worked for a week flawlessly. It now does not work anything I do!
Was an update last night and worked on my phone. Didn’t try the iPad as I was using it as a monitor at the time.
I am using an I pad. Will see if an update is needed.
I downloaded the App Store update for FltPlan Go version 5.0.6 for my IPAD and everything is working again! Excellent!
what did you use for simconnect? You ran the FltPlan Go app on the PC?
