Any idea how to move this over to 2024? I simply copied the folder from my FS2020 community folder over to 2024 but when I booted up a flight out of Logan, it was the (horrible) generic scenery.
all payware airports are currently disabled
I had no idea… thought I saw a couple of videos posted of the Fly Tampa KBOS scenery. So there are no options to install ANY previously purchased airports in 2024?
you probably did, they were all active for like a week or two. but then they turned them all off again, to parse thru issues. msfs told me this week they are slowly turning add ons back on. both all airports saying “not available” and if you’re still missing some from even appearing in your library list. as I and others likely do
marketplace is also delayed, again. to early 2025, dk what that means specifically. my guess well get more info after the new yr or in a Jan dev stream
so yeah, as of now, 2024 is missing most 2020 content that is not airplanes, as well as no updated aerials, photogrametry, tin, etc. for urban areas. both are delayed per msfs support
Well that sucks… I really am kicking myself for jumping into 2024 so early in the process. I know it’s eventually going to be a solid program but in hindsight, should have held off for a few months and simply continued to enjoy 2020.
I feel the same way. the rocks, trees, water effects, some new planes, all pretty cool. but the experience, for the reasons I listed + many others such as performance and blurry issues, really give a sting to shelling out money
Only Marketplace (streaming) airports are disabled. If it’s 2020 Community scenery, it should be working as normal. All my 2020 Community scenery is working fine, including iniBuilds PHNL, KPSP, KJFK, EGGL, HKJK and OMDB; PacSim’s KSLC, Flightbeam’s KSFO and numerous others.
If you’re not seeing your Community stuff in the sim, check the Library tab inside the FS2024 Marketplace screen to be sure your Community folder is located where you think it is - it’s had a nasty habit of resetting custom locations to the default at random times.
Oh gotcha. Yeah so seems there’s difference betweeen Xbox and pc
Of course. PC has access to the Community folder and any scenery, aircraft, utilities, etc. purchased outside the Marketplace typically involves copying or installing files and folders into that Community folder.
Unfortunately for me, my copy of FlyTampa’s KBOS is from the Marketplace so it is currently disabled, despite the fact that for almost two weeks it worked perfectly and looked great streaming in from the sim. Same thing with my FlyTamp LGAV Athens scenery - looked fabulous and performed great. Also disabled. The only FlyTampa Marketplace scenery I own that never became available to stream is the FlyTampa KLAS and Vegas Strip scenery.
Anyway, this is all an aside - Community folder scenery should be available and working normally in FS2024. I forgot to mention earlier that one of the recent patches allows you know to actually use the Library tab to see what the sim thinks is enabled in the Community folder. So after confirming the folder location, I’d suggest checking to be sure the scenery is listed in the Library.
I’ll check next time I’m in. I installed it in the correct 2024 folder (why the hell did Asobo have to change the name of the directory (“limetless”) from the previous name in 2020?). Seems like they are just going out of their way to make every aspect of 2024 more frustrating than it needed to be. I’ve been slowly migrating all my old stuff over to 2024. Just did a fresh install of GSX, hoping that goes well. Now if I can just get FSLTL to function so I have some decent AI traffic and assuming all the old scenery works, I’ll be in decent shape.
You can confirm that what you believe to be the “correct 2024 folder” is the same as what the sim itself thinks by clicking the gear / settings icon next to the search box in the Library tab of the sim. As I said, the sim has a nasty habit of seemingly-randomly changing the location of your Community folder back to its default location, so confirming that location, as well as checking the Community items listed in the Library tab, is a good first step if expected scenery isn’t appearing.
