FlyBoy Simulations RANS S6S

There are plenty of aircraft without a DG or a HSI, such as the default Savage Cub.
You are welcome to use the wet compass which is dead center on the top of the panel :hugs:.

Because the aircraft fly very realistic and is within the envelope without the need for implementation of such features. As a IRL pilot I can tell you it flys better than most airplanes who support it. At this point those are more of a gimmick anyway. Hopefully they will evolve in future.

It feels more stable than even the PMDG’s 737 in turbulence which is why I thought something’s not right (I’m not a pilot IRL).

Yes. It is how turbulence is supose to feel like. Many GA and ultralight aircraft have that jerky micro-movements in sim which is totaly something you wont encounter IRL. Trubulance dont feel that way. I would even recomend reducing turbulence a notch for aircraft that have that “jerky” problem. I am not sure why would PMDG 737 feel that way though. It is usualy sugestive there is a problem with inertia values.

The flight model is the best in the sim by a long way. We really don’t need CFD which would end up breaking this plane. Just enjoy it as it is…a very realistic feeling plane.

TBH the behavior of this aircraft feels more like X-plane than MSFS, i.e. the response is less twitchy and more fluidic. No wonder x-plane is still in market just because of this difference.

This plane won’t stall. Not saying that’s a bad thing. Might be fun to try landing it on a helipad.
Throttle idle. Elevator full up deflection. 28 knots. Just lumbers along with -500 fpm VS.

That sure sounds like it is stalled.

That is pretty much what a power off stall looks and feels like in a lot of lightweight/training stuff I have flown. The real life Jabiru is exactly like that in a power off stall for example. Just gets mushy and loses a lot of height.

Where you expecting the nose or a wing to drop ?

Try full power. Did it yesterday actually to see, and it went into a half spin. Probably realistic to this type of airplane.

Yep, mushy controls and lose height is pretty much how a power off stall manifests in a lot of these lightweight recreational/training aircraft. You need a bit of power on for anything else to happen.

It is on sale 25% off at simmarket at the moment.
Just picked it up… what a gem of a plane!

That’s exactly what I was expecting. Not a pilot IRL, so I guess I need to revise my understanding of what a stall is. Amazing that the wings can stay level at 28 knots.

Power off stalls in training and STOL aircraft are pretty tame.

Jabiru, similar aircraft … very slight nose drop at full stall …

I’m really enjoying the simplicity and relaxed flight. Glad I followed others’ recommendations to buy this one.

I am going to buy this from inibuilds site,

How do you get the updates,

This is one of my favorite planes, I love the way she flies. If I could change one thing I’d add a directional gyro to that remaining blank spot in the six-pack.

I love it too, would be awesome if they added a bit of dynamic engine stuff… like oil levels, possible damage etc… great airplane. One of the best in VR period.

Rans is now available on ORBX store also!

Yep first day I flew this plane I knew it was a keeper. Ground roll is surprisingly as good as the flight model too. Just a fantastic aircraft to fly! Hope it shows up on the Marketplace soon so I see even more of them flying around

This amazing plane is one of my favorites, however each time I fly her I feel that something is missing. Something in the six-pack, in the vicinity of the empty instrument slot. I’ll just put this here: https://www.regalair.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/AV-30-C-Pilots-Guide-UAV-1003946-001-Rev-B.pdf Probably not feasible but a simulation addict can dream.
