Spitfire MKIX by Flying Iron

Brief description of the issue:

The plane continually rolls to the right in flight, as of the stick is being held slightly to the right. The plane takes off as expected with a significant pull to the left, but in flight the aircraft continually rolls to the right requiring constant correction.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

At work so can’t provide this, but will later if helpful.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

The issue happens whenever the Spitfire is in the air, and only with this plane - all other planes I’ve tried don’t exhibit this issue. I am certain the issue isn’t stick drift, as it happens with multiple controllers and other planes (and other games) don’t show any kind of erroneous movement on the x axis.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

the issue occurs with both a controller and with a Flightmaster HOTAS stick.

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

the game and aircraft are all fully updated.

Like the real one. You have to trim rudder while flying.

The is how the Spitfire flies. You need to do 3 things to correct it.

First, using the manual, make sure you have your RPM & Boost set for proper Cruise settings. Going from memory, I think 2100 and +4 works for most situations.

Next, use the rudder trim to center up the slip indicator.

Finally, open the handy tablet and go to the far- right tab, which I think is options. There, you will have the little cheater Aileron trim, which does not exist in the real plane. They’ve put that there for your convenience if you don’t want to hand-fly it as much.

Keep in mind, this is a very well simulated plane. These settings will not be a set-it-and-forget-it situation. As you burn fuel, and your plane gets lighter, you’ll need to adjust. As weather conditions change, you’ll need to adjust. Same for altitude changes, pressure changes, and who knows what else.

Thanks for this comprehensive response! I’ll try your suggestions later on when I get home.

No problem. I recently completed a flight around the world in the Spitfire, including one leg that was over 700 miles long. There’s not much chance I would have come close to finishing that if she didn’t trim out a bit. I didn’t use the Autopilot, but you have that option in the tablet as well.

Thanks again - the tablet did the trick. I’ll cheat with the aileron trim while I go over the manual and get used to the plane.
