With all these great Warbirds in the sim now, we need the ability to Dogfight … DLC MSFS 2024 would be great
Absolutely love it. Bravo.
Aerobatics are a lot of fun with it. It’s probably the most rewarding airplane I’ve flown in the sim, you must be precise otherwise it’ll bite.
It’d be cool if you could adjust the nav frequency in the tablet so you don’t have to toggle the GPS on and off to change frequencies when you’re flying wtih the gunsight on. Doing a spot of cross country flying using the AFN-2 radio beacon indicator which is quite handily programmed to hone in on VOR signals.
I took off from Bristol airfield and flew around aimlessly for a bit then decided to check out the AFN-2 so dialed the local VORDME (BCN) in on the GPS and used the instrument to fly there quite easily. Then I decided to check out the action at Duxford and to have a quick cross country flight, so dialed in HON and flew over to Coventry then dialed in BKY which is close to Duxford and flew over there with no problem. Nice little flight. Was almost out of fuel so landed and two other Messers spawned in on the parking spots. Here we are facing off against the static Spits and Hurricanes from the brilliant Duxford freeware scenery
Nice! That is quite a long flight from Bristol.
Are those Spits there if you don’t install the Air Show version, but get replaced with the Air Show mod additionally installed?
You know I have no idea! I always have both of them enabled.
Quite a bit of action at Duxford with Spits and Messers in the air. I was gonna do another cross country flight and had the belly tank installed but ended up trying to dogfight anyway. That tank really does add a lot of drag! I also got my first gear collapse, thought I was coming down at a decent speed but evidently not as:
They key is locked tail wheel, as little wind from the left as possible, stick and rudder fully right, and smooth and slow power addition till the tail is up.
Landings: Tail wheel locked?
Very cool, I was just a Duxford in the BF, one of them may have been me.
Well I finally got a chance to sit down and try it out last night. I’ve been a massive fan of WW2 fighters ever since I was a kid, especially the 109 and 190, and I’m floored to see such a high quality rendition in MSFS! Every aspect of this addon is top notch from visuals to sounds to the flight model. Can’t wait to fly it more.
I’m really struggling to loop this bird. I get to the top of the loop and it does a weird little snap spin and I end up flying upright, so I end up basically doing a weird Immelmann turn. I start the failed loops at 500kph which apparently is the right speed and tried kicking in some rudder to stop it spinning at the top but can’t seem to get it. Any pros out there got any looping advice for this idiot?
I made a short video (german language) for people, who want to use the “Prop Governer Switch” on the throttle lever with buttons instead of the propeller axis, to do this with Axis And Ohs Scripts. The principle and the vars should be the same for spadnext.
3 Scripts for the buttons:
Script1 → 100 (>A:GENERAL ENG PROPELLER·LEVER·POSITION:1, Percent)
Script2 → 50 (>A:GENERAL ENG PROPELLER·LEVER·POSITION:1, Percent)
Script3 → 0 (>A:GENERAL ENG PROPELLER·LEVER·POSITION:1, Percent)
Then make two buttons/keys with keydown and keyup events:
- Button for Prop RPM Increase → keydownevent=Script1 keyupevent=Script2
- Button for Prop RPM Decrease → keydownevent=Script3 keyupevent=Script2
-optional one additional button/key with a script for toggleing the Prop Governor between automatic and manual
Script → (L:ENGINE_PropGovernorSwitch, Bool) ! (>L:ENGINE_PropGovernorSwitch, Bool)
Cheers

no only in airshow version which i only use if i’m at an airshow :))
Weird I have the airshow optional add on with the “complete” version but never seen those Spitfires on the grass. I’ll have to double check but pretty certain
It is very easy to snap roll. Are you using full deflection of the elevator? If so, trying doing it without full deflection. I don’t think rudder input will save you from entering a spin.
Wonderful performance/video! How did you get that spectator view?
Check you have the latest he moved them from the main Duxford to the airshow addon a while back i think
Just managed to do two full (but very sloppy) loops, and yeah I think I was giving it too much elevator up the top. I eased off a bit and still managed to snap roll it but kept at it a few more times and eventually got there. It requires quite careful stick movements. Cheers for the help! Now to loop like a mad-man.
i know i know it would be a new aircraft but i cant help thinking of those Hispano Aviación HA-1112 Buchons i so wish we could have those
