I will be even more excited to hear they are released :innocent:

But tomorrow I am going on vacation for a week. So that probably means they will get released this Sunday

You may wish to change the title of this thread to include the helicopter names for folks to search for the thread more easily.

Excellent Idea, Done!

I also can’t see a bundle orange banner from my phone.

Just a suggestion but you might want to do something about the thumbnails for the 2 new helicopters on your main webpage. The B47 and 206 are around 150kb, the new ones are 13mb, which may seriously affect loading times for some people.

The link to the JetExec manual is broken.

All Fixed… somehow the hi rez pictures for the printed versions were used instead!

Thanks for letting us know!

RotorRick

The path for mobile phone display of the website was missing the banner for the bundle. That should be fixed now. if not, you can always tell your browser to “Use Desktop Site” temporarily.

Anyone have a quick reaction? Would love to hear some feedback about these.

I’ll go then

I really like them both. Personally I prefer the Piston one, largely as it’s a full analogue cockpit and I prefer the sound of a pure combustion engine.

The Jet Turbine does feel and fly subtly differently but it’s not really any faster at the same altitudes (in my hands at least). It CAN fly higher though (so might be a good one for you, not tried that scenario to be fair!). And as written in the store description it is smoother (IRL) and that really comes across via sound and just the way it moves (but it’s subtle).

You can feel the same bloodline through them both as the 206, so you know what to expect — high quality and “serious”. But they fly to the numbers for each model (great pains were taken for that) and you HAVE to fly them properly or they will bite. You can’t rush things and need to be aware of the weather / wind and approach things correctly. It’s quite easy to run out of pedal if you are near limits of cross wind combined with DA (the dreaded DA) and weight so you do need to be careful and avoid all those things being against you at the same time.

I find the Piston one is more forgiving overall and you can throw it around a bit. The Turbine feels like you can make some expensive virtual mistakes by being too aggressive or pushing it too suddenly, so you gotta be on your toes with it more but they fly true and both are rather satisfying in all phases of flight.

The 3D modelling is good and I think they look really sleek (modern design, small size, clean lines). Comes with a good few liveries for starters and I’m sure more will be added over time (either officially as they did with the others and/or by talented creators). Remember it’s only v1.0, and track history of their other products guarantees future refinement. There will be updates but it’s solid already.

At the end of the day I’m very happy to have doubled my Fly Inside hanger quota in 1 hit though. Can’t go wrong if you enjoy their others as even with some different hands behind the development wheel there is a strong similarity to how they “feel” (compared to 206 / 47) due to the same bones of the flight model and the captain of the ships dedication to accuracy and detail.

Maybe just due to the sheer hours I’ve spent in the 206 though, I still keep that as my favourite of all lol

See, even for me, “new shiny” doesn’t always trump my fave oldies!

Would like to hear about FPS in VR… one of the reasons I have not bought the 206

206 is no different to any other aircraft for me. Ah, I do remember turning off the ground smoke effects or whatever they are called. They could cause some hitches especially when really close to the ground. What system do you have?

Anyway the RotorWays are the same. No issues here on 7950X3D with 4080 and Quest 3.
