Interesting indeed. Perhaps it has something to do with file permissions? As you probably know, you have to tweak permissions just to be able to view the FS exe file, let alone do anything with it. Perhaps until this is done OTT can’t hook it? I’m not sure as I did it all before I got to the performance/quality tweaking phase.
I am sure I changed the permission because now I can open the flight simulator folder and see all files inside. Maybe there is a program permission aside from folder permission?
I don’t remember changing any permissions other than the ones required to view the folder contents.
However, I do remember that when setting up a profile for FS2020 in OTT, it would not allow me to directly select the exe file using the file browser approach. (Some error about permissions again.) Is that what you mean? Instead I had to copy/paste the location into the box manually, adding the exe name to the end. Like so:
