I was experiencing terrible stuttering in MSFS as soon as I updated to SU11. Made it unplayable.10 was fine.
I found 20 minutes this morning and tried again - same terrible stuttering. For no real reason I deleted both the rolling and manual caches and tried again.
Ony tested with 2 flights (wife is calling), but my problem appears solved.
Hope that may help those that are experiencing the same thing.
Interestingly I put my very bad stutters last night down to 3rd party (payware) scenery, that may need updating for SU11. Have just flown in other parts of the world with absolutely no stutters…so maybe some scenery is causing a lot of grief.
I asked about the ongoing stutters after Jayne popped in the discord. I specifically asked if these stutters could be related to the photogrammetry streaming in and the server issues. She pretty much confirmed that yes, the servers are currently having issues and she believed they were related (photogrammetry stutters and server issues).
I read your previous post with interest. I am currently running one of my “milk run” flights that CTD yesterday with the now infamous banner suggesting that my PC has insufficient memory. I have chosen a time ( I am in Europe) when the server loading is reduce because most American Simmers are probably asleep.
No CTD so far which possibly confirm my suspicions that “server overload” was the culprit.
However (post SU11) taxiing for departure at LEMG Malaga stuttering made the sim unusable untill Photogrammetry was disabled. Then no problem…so far. All the usual legacy issues with ATC, ATIS, ground aircraft turning upside down and rotating, etc etc still present. I wonder if these obvious bugs will ever be fixed.
Since SU11 was installed I’ve had a bit of stuttering and low FPS, but only when I start taxing, after a few moments it all clears and the rest of my flights have been silky smooth. I’m putting it down to server overload, as always happens for a few days whenever there is a new version of MSFS released.
I’d just wait a couple of days and don’t start panicking, changing settings, drivers etc. Maybe clear the rolling cache and empty the community folder just to test if there are any “rogue” addons.
Tired this unfortunately made no difference. Sadly I think Asobo was rushed to a strict deadline for the 40th anniversary and wasn’t able to complete the necessary QA which they did during the SU timelines. I do really hope they do push a micro-release to fix a lot of these new issues that exist in SU11 but didn’t in SU10.
I was having horrible stuttering, especially around cities like Chicago and Tokyo, but even in less dense urban areas like Kansas City. I mean, it would sometimes lurch and stop from 0.5 to 1 second at a time in rapid succession, totally unplayble. I haven’t seen stuttering like that even on launch day or any time since then! BUT, clearing my cache fixed it and it’s running smooth again! Thanks!
(I also moved the cache to a different SSD from my C: drive, although I don’t know if that had any real effect by itself.)
