Force feedback support

XPForce is good and worth the subscription but it would perform even better if the game supported FFB properly. The original purpose of XPForce is to add more features and give you more control over the FFB, the fact that it can give useable FFB in a game that does not support FFB properly is actually quite impressive.

People should upvote this thread if they have not already.

@Magic6420 I have looked into XPForce, but whenever I try to open the ā€œofficialā€ (fsmissioneditor-dot-com) website I get an instant warning that the website is attempting to run code that could be harmful to my PC, this really stifles my will to go any further, especially if I’m supposed to transfer money to them.
I’m still hoping that Asobo implements proper FFB into the game.

Not seeing any serious issues here. A few trackers show up nothing too malicious for me.

I had the same problem with the web site but after looking carefully at the reported problem I concluded that it was just something that was not up to date. I bought it and had no problem at all with the web site. XPforce works but … sometimes it makes MSFS freezing while loading. If I close XPForce, then MSFS unfreeze and continue loading. I reported the problem to XPForce but got no answer. By the way, If you did vote to have Force Feedback supported, add your vote, this way we could get FF in MSFS (it’s easy to to at the top of this thread).

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller does not have force feedback.

Vibration is not force feedback. It’s completely unrelated.

Vibration is a random application of forces in many directions to the entire controller device.

Force feedback is specific, directed application of counterforce against your input to the stick.

Yep, in an ideal world if you see the yoke moving in the virtual cockpit under control of the autopilot your real world yoke should do the same thing. Our hardware can do that but the game does not provide the support for that too happen.

Still frustrated that you keep updating the scenery, but the support for your very own joystick is still missing.
Please, make Flight Sim a serious simulator again, and not just a Xbox game with good visuals. We, professional and enthusiast pilots, don’t care so much about the graphics, we’d rather see more realistic physics and more accurate behaviour (try flapping the A320, it’s completely innacurate).

From what I have read from Microsoft the Forcefeedback 2 does not have drivers for or is expect to operate in a 64bit systems, in short as far as Microsoft is concerned that old war hammer stopped working @ Windows 8.

In reading others have said some information in this video helps in getting it to work even though it will still show up as not identified however with no force feedback.

Those old MS sticks were great but you have to remember it’s old enough to rent a car without additional insurance.

and uh ahum professional with a sidewinder wheel..hahahaha

That doesn’t have force feedback though. I can understand why a pro pilot would want force feedback, and I honestly can’t understand why it’s faded out of use.

Why not just go and get XP Force? It will all work for you just has it has done for me over the last eight or nine months.

I would like to see more liveries for airplanes such as Lufthansa or easyjet. It doesn’t work for me if I install liveries from other sources even though I really did everything right

@MantillaDaten66 This specific topic is about force feedback controls. Do a search for ā€œliveries mega packā€ and you will find more liveries than you can ever imagine along with instructions on how to install them. Hope this helps you.

$15 for something we should have anyway, just because MS obsoletes it’s own products rather than supporting them? There are so many features included in FSX that were dropped for MSFS2020 in favor of VR.

Tell me about it. But if you want a working FFB function, this is how you do it.

What about Brunner, how well is it implemented in MSFS as of today?

I have seen posts on both sides of the fence, some say it needs native support in msfs and others that say with XPFORCE it is amazing. I guess the gripe is having to run another software to get this to work. I’m looking at the Brunner myself and I believe it will work beautifully. Either way, make sure you click on the vote vote button at the top of of this topic

Thanks for your feedback and already voted a long time ago

Well, i’ve only seen Gamermuscle do only one item on the brunner’s force feedback in MSFS2020, nobody else jumped on the bandwagon.

Having just delved into the brunner forum, i guess reading through here will give you some idea of the state that the brunner is actually in. https://forum.brunner-innovation.swiss/forums/topic/1695/

Yes, ffb is working, no not natively… hell, even has to use Vjoy to get some parts to work. So, in my humble opinion, it’s doesn’t appear to be an actual consumer product with just one installer and automatically working in sims… it requires certain steps to get it working properly. Read through the forumpost if you like, i’m just posting here what it feels like from my side of the fence (Logitech G940 owner) whilst reading that… and yeah, i’d like to have a fully functioning product without hassle, just one installer and be done with it… i got enough of that fiddling with msfs VR (quest2) and racing on a simucube FFB system… sorry Brunner, keep evolving, you’ve caught my attention. Hope msfs will pitch in for you with required sdk to be fully implemented and recognizing the brunner flight system… and to help all the other people in here who have FFB joysticks wanting it to be implemented properly into msfs.

Woof ~ Woof & Salute!

PS.. might want to read through here as well, some great and not so great experiences.. see for yourself: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/592663-any-brunner-yoke-users/
