ForeFlight: Subscription Needed for just Flight Sim?

It looks like an amazing app. Do you still have to get a subsription to use only for flight sim?

Thanks…Michael

The last time I checked, the answer was “yes”. I just checked again, and it is still appears to be “yes”. Very advanced app so it makes sense that it is payware, even for sim use.

There may be some scheme somewhere for edge cases, but I doubt it.

What is it that you’re trying to do? I would bet that one, or a combination of freeware / pay ware would do what you’re looking to do. Now if you want it all in one nice package, ForeFlight is probably (one of) the way(s) to go.

Just throwing Airmate in here. You can get it through the itunes store. It is a pretty complete EFB that I use for real flying, and you can easily connect it to MSFS. It is a free solution, as they seem to have a different Business Model. I agree, ForeFlight is very complete, but also comes with a price.
I would at least check it out.

Just grabbed it! Thank you for mentioning it. Found the Sim connection stuff in the (advanced?) settings. Very cool, going to try it out!

FYI, there is currently an issue with the route editor and some data download. There is a new version going to be released in the next few days that addresses a few issues. I just learnt we are also getting more features.
