That is an excellent guide and correlates with my findings.
The best advice in there is: “I try to get the frame times of the MainThread to be the same as the GPU. If your CPU is your bottleneck, tune the graphics up so you can enjoy the game. Otherwise, work on the graphics but push the above settings up to have a better experience.”
I only realised this when prompted by @TheOriginalBabu regarding frametimes and when I went in to check I realised I have things turned down that does not relate to the bottleneck.
This is very good. A lot of time intensive work. My comment from doing similar is that JFK probably doesnt have many trees grass or bushes from your viewpoint so changing those settings won’t affect the fps. For a true test for each setti ng you need to have the “items” in visual. So for testing building settings somewhere with lots of buildings. Water somewhere with lots of water same for reflections. Tress fly over a wooded area, grass sit on a grass airstrip etc
Guys I’m new to MSFS. My Config is intel i5-12400F, 16GB ram, Graphics GTX 1660, and 2TB SSD. So What Graphics settings should i run the Sim on for optimal performace.
Having 64GB RAM (DDR5 at 5200MHz), a RTX 4070 base (12GB) a great processor…I ask, what can these specs handle in terms of BEST for flying airliners in busy environments?
Cheers and thank you.
